"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love." - "Divine Racism: The Unacknowledged Threshold Issue for Black Theology", in African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, by William R Jones, ed Cornel West and Eddie Glaube (Westminster John Knox Press).

HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"
WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.
HANNITY: But I'm a reverend
WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

We’ll win the majority votes in the next election by trashing kids?
The left isn’t winning because they are vile. They are winning because they have control of education, television shows and movies, the news, and just about everything that influences our culture and our way of thinking.
Sadly, we have let them because it’s easier to sit on our butt and watch tv and send our kids to public school than getting off our butts and teaching our kids ourselves and becoming informed about the news and politics instead of having the news networks do it all for us.
That’s not to mention the empty promises that they will fix everything and bring heaven on earth if they are elected. So much easier to vote for someone to do it instead of doing what’s necessary ourselves.
We are lazy. Not all of us, but for the most part, the American people have become lazy, making us gullible to persuasion - and governence.
Calling someone a “putz” would not be considered a racist comment, it would be more an annotomical reference.
I believe the quote below sums up my feeling on Bill O
Strange as it seems, no amount of learning can cure stupidity, and higher education positively fortifies it.
Stephen Vizinczey, An Innocent Millionaire
Folks, there is nothing wrong with Bob Parks said.
If someone made those comments regarding the Obama kids, Obama or his wife, they are wrong no matter the source, be it a veteran Freeper or a liberal plant, it is wrong.
One can make the observation that the kids may or may not be tools that are being wielded, but even a young girl wearing the peace sign (a symbol I abhor, not because I love war or hate peace, but because of the mindset it represents) should be off limits.
If she is eighteen and speaks her mind independently and publicly, that is different and she can be taken to task, analyzed or ridiculed as the case may be.
But as a dependent child, she is off limits. And that is the way it should be.
All we can do as Freepers is to voice our disapproval, admonish the poster and notify the Admin Mods when we see things like that. If the Admin Mods don’t clean it up, then we can sever or keep our association with FR as we see fit.
I detest Barack Obama, his policies and his practices. I can (and do) label him as a socialist, Marxist and racist. And I am willing to have the discussion with anyone, anytime, anywhere in any forum to back it up.
I don’t care what his race, ethnicity or skin pigmentation is, it is his policies and attitude towards this country I find reprehensible.
One of the things I appreciate about FR is lack of profanity on this site. There is some, I have expressed it myself. But we can generally and usually express our views without resorting to it. The same can be said for racism. If there are people posting here, we should take it on ourselves to police it and notify the admin moderators.
I believe these to be plants, but if we don’t police it ourselves, we let them triumph. And we cannot do that.
Thanks, JJ.
That, I don't recall.
I am with you Bob. I have seen these from time to time. Before October of last year though most racially charged posts were more about making a point rather than making a racist statement but lately there have been more and more posts that don’t seem to be making a point anymore than it is a venting of emotion that is racially tinged.
I think though that this is a good argument for this site to have.
I warned back in January that this site was going to be infiltrated by racists as they see a co-operative issue right now. As you may or may not know most racist organizations tend to blur the left/right ideologies with there political positions but now we have one big lightning rod in the White House and this being the largest forum dedicated to conservative values we are a naturally point for people who want Obama out to come. And unfortunately that means the undesirables come with them sometimes and also can mean those who have hidden amongst u can com out.
I believe conservatism wins hands down in the market of ideas but it is also easily marginalized by idiots.
You bet.
Yes, but a liberal plant is not a FReeper. What part of that don't you understand? Can't you distinguish between the two?
Did you read the headline? That's an indictment of the whole of Free Republic. And that is wrong.
Most of the time Obama’s kids look cute and dressed well. The majority of people on that thread did not like the peacenik sigh on the childs shirt.
There were a few, and I don’t remember who, that made over the top comments. What we do not know is who around here they were and how many were trolls. I made a comment on that thread that the shirt was inappropriate and that the hair looked bad. I was making a critque and I would have said the same if it had been the Bush girls. Heaven knows, we don’t go easy on the very white Meghan McCain.
That in itself does not indict the whole site. If anyone wants to know they should ask what posters posted that and expect them to make a formal apology.
That would be something that would never happen at Kos or DU.
I have to agree with you. The shame is if we make it harder to sign up, then people like me will not be able to. I know what a lot of freeps are saying.”good riddance” but I am an honest to goodness conservative. I believe in hauling your own butt. If you ask, I may help depending on how hard you tried before you asked. I should never hear from government, unless there is someone attacking us. I do not accept triple taxation.
May I suggest that everyone consider Mr. Tom Wolfe's book, Radical Chic & Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers.
There you will find a discussion about the art of confrontation, the catchers of the flak, and the game-playing from America's 1960s era of Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble.
They are now (virtually) the Establishment but they cannot resist their old ways and their ideological issue (children) know no other way but confrontation.
You cannot have discourse with them. They are not about "getting along."
What were their signup dates?
But it's not just newbies who are trolls. I've been suspicious of posts and then checked the "seniority" and they've been here for years. Then I check their posting histories, and there are long gaps in time, sometimes years.
I honestly think they've hired long-term trolls who registered years ago. We've got sleeper cells here.
Go ahead, call me paranoid, but Soros has had a lot of money in this game for a very long time.
“Abortion is OK or not? Huh?”
Obama said that he would not want his daughters to be punished with a baby. That is pretty much a direct quote. He used the word “punish”.
Exactly, and good point, as you note.
What’s it going to be?
Is abortion, right up to the ninth month, wrong or not?
Is it wrong to force people who object, on the grounds of conscience, to participate or observe abortions.
Is it acceptable to use American tax dollars to advance the cause of abortion and even pay for them in undeveloped countries?
Is it compassionate NOT to offer pallative care, until death, to babies who have survived the process of abortion?
Is it any wonder this nation is being figuratively and literally sucked down a hole by such poor judgement and such immoral leadership?
These are issue which need to be discussed. Hopefully, the nation can right itself.
Thanks, agreed. We also have to STOP asking rhetorical questions like "waaaaaaaaaa, what would be the media reaction if the 'right" did this or did that. Who cares? We are going against long odds here people. We're going to have to get into the mud with the oppo. Giving hell with NO HOLDS BARRED.
