The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:
@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web
The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR
Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.
David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.
Thanks.
I’ve been told further along on this thread that I was one of two.
I don’t believe it.
Here are some acceptable alternatives however:
(It's not like we don't have a sense of humor).
LOL! *grin*
The race card is what happens when there are false accusations of racism. As the thread in question was pulled, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Just as not every claim of racism ring true, neither does it mean that there are no cases of it happening here. To say either would be false.
Could they have merely been leftist moles or buried stormfronters? Of course, but then that should be brought out into the open; not for the media or leftists’ sake, but ours.
Logically you could be a racist and not think/believe any such thing, or do racist acts. At the same time, the thought/belief in question may not have anything to do with racism, but instead could well be one of those things not understood by the observer making the charge. A racist act could be made out of ignorance, or simply a lack of comprehension on the part of the observer.
Ergo, a false charge of racism would be what (logically speaking)? It's not all that simple.
You need to establish a couple of things to work this out ~ what is race, and who is thinking/believing what about whom, and when. With respect to the thread in question the claim was that it contained "racist statements" and it was allowed to be posted for 5 hours or thereabouts.
The discussion here has proceeded on the basis that the thread contained racist material ~ but what if it didn't? All we have at present are the claims of Leftwingtards and we all know none of them are reliable witnesses to fact or judges of law and standards. (In fact I'm of the distinct impression that the Holy Quran and the Sharia establish clearly that the word of a ka'fir is worth half that of a woman, and if anyone is a ka'fir, your typical Leftwingtard is that. Hence, if we were Moslems none of us could be debating any of this.)
The other claim is that the thread was left in place for at least 5 hours. A subset of that claim is the accusation no one complained to the Administrators.
I was just looking over some other threads this morning and noticed that they were left in place, untouched, for about 8 hours (from 11 PM to 7 AM). In fact, the overwhelming majority of threads were treated that way ~ nothing happened for extended periods of time. A 5 hour wait for a change in a thread is hardly remarkable!
As far as complaints being made, the Administrators deleted the thread didn't they ~ so someone complained, or, maybe the Administrator(s) read the thread.
BTW, getting back to question of "throwing the race card" I think you must also have a precise definition of race ~ right down to the haplogroups. Absent that, it's just too unfocused to be dealt with rationally.
So terribly many of the media these days are potential Stormfront recruits I just don’t know what to say. We really can’t counsel everything we say and do here on what a bunch of Nazi wannabees dictate.
Good lord....this is what has become of MSNBC?
Instead of covering real news in the world or doing real investigative journalism, they go after silly comments on FR(that very well might have been done by DU provocateurs)? This is news?
It’s petty and partisan poppycock.
Regarding other Nazis in the news, this morning we saw Juan Williams use the term "rejigger" in reference to an Obama program.
So what did he mean by that?
“Odds are that MSNBC’s own staff made the posts here”
Now why does that not surprise me? Jim should be able to tell by tracking back who said what and when they signed up, etc. Have they figured it out yet? I was gone yesterday and missed the whole brouhaha.
I’m sure folks know already. Probably realized it just seconds before they pulled the thread.
Leave.
You and the OP don't get to appoint yourselves our Ministers of Truth.
Point taken. Agreed. ;-)
WE see you!
I’m sure you’re trying to make some point, but it’s lost in all the vagueness.
Last refuge of someone who can not refute an argument. Congrats for joining that illustrious club.
Thanks for the helpful links that prove my point. It should be handy for those just joining the thread. :-)
>If all this crap is, in your estimation, the work of a handful of infiltrating, leftist trolls... then why does everyone else on such threads usually “LOL” along, leaving me usually as one of only a handful or freepers (or sometimes the only one) objecting?
Even on the infamous “pulled thread”, there were VERY few people objecting (no more than 2 or 3, IIRC) and literally dozens, maybe more, either actively agreeing and “LOL”ing along or, at the very least, not objecting at all?<
Some of us, saquin, watched in disgust as the banned poster kept writing totally inappropriate, racially tinged comments, to which you replied. From where I sat, at least, every time you snapped at her, she just had to post some racist bile right back at you.
Could it be that you didn’t see the pattern? Might SOME of that language been avoided, had you kept your fingers still, or simply hit the abuse button on that fool instead of going on and on self-righteously? Some individuals used self-control, and didn’t encourage the trolls by giving them the argument they obviously craved. They simply alerted the moderators who pulled the offensive posts.
There is a reason for the very well-known saying around the internet, “don’t feed the trolls”.
I hit the abuse button but I also feel it’s important to confront people like that, instead of letting them go unanswered. If it was a case of just one random racist troll, yes, I’d say the best answer is to just hit abuse and ignore. But that’s not the case. It’s usually more than one person plus a cheering squad... and they all didn’t just sign up yesterday. All of us have to confront them, if we want them to know that’s not what we believe here, instead of just letting one of us do it and take all the heat. Just my opinion.
We'll take that thought to heart on every thread you intrude upon.
