The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:
@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web
The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR
Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.
David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.

Pssst... Malia is not leader of the free world. And there is no established protocol for what the 11-year-old daughter of the President should wear while eating gelato in Italy on a summer day. I think she looked cute. When she was on official outings (such as at the Vatican) she dressed up, as is appropriate. For sightseeing, she looked like a normal, cute little girl. I totally agree with you, although I do believe her parents should have been a bit more diligent (diplomatic?) in how they allowed the child to be seen in public.
However, my resident fashionista, who also happens to be 11 years old and a cute little girl does not agree with either of us. Her comment was "Mommy, that shirt looks awful, she doesn't have any underwear under it. Shouldn't she have a bra or undershirt on?"
One 11 yo commenting upon another 11 yo -- nothing racist or political about it.

Playtime is an interesting term to describe what has happened to this thread. Marching orders...got it

I think that we should control each other and remind each other to cool down.

Are you familiar with that old Saturday Night Live skit with Eddie Murphy in whiteface makeup getting on the bus? Who wudda thunk that the key was pancakes.
Please forgive me. It’s getting late.

Your daughter is smart. My daughter said it would have been nice to see her wear a shirt that was without a slogan or had USA on it if she needed to express herself. Mine is just 9 yrs old.

Sweetie, this conversation between InvisibleMan and me is so far over your head you’d need to be Michael Jordan to reach it. Save your energy for your “Reading is Fundamental” class.

No............. this is the picture and it's 10x worse.
This is her cuz and are you going to tell me the prez and the wife didn't think this was inappropriate? Also, why are we paying for all of their relatives to go on every damn trip? They are PIGS. I said it once and I'll say it again....PIGS. elitist user hypoctites that tell people to suck it up and give up some of their pie while they spend tax payers dollars like they are drunken sailors. They are like some high school kid that was given a credit card with no limit on it. Ugh, they are disgustingly crude.

Ha, yeah, unfortunately I am old enough to remember that.
And, with all this talk, now I want pancakes! And have no pancake mix in the house!

I don't want to be controlled by anyone. And I would hope they wouldn't bother to try. However a reminder to cool down is fine or to not be insulting or rude. I think if you try to take on the job of controlling many on FR you are in for a rude awakening . The Mods are here for that.
