Son of Africa, Obama scolds forces of tyranny

ACCRA, Ghana – An American president who has "the blood of Africa within me" praised and scolded the continent of his ancestors Saturday, asserting forces of tyranny and corruption must yield if Africa is to achieve its promise.

"Yes you can," Barack Obama declared, brushing off his campaign slogan and adapting it for his foreign audience. Speaking to the Ghanaian Parliament, he called upon African societies to seize opportunities for peace, democracy and prosperity.

"This is a new moment of promise," he said. "To realize that promise, we must first recognize a fundamental truth that you have given life to in Ghana: Development depends upon good governance. That is the ingredient which has been missing in far too many places, for far too long. That is the change that can unlock Africa's potential."

The son of a white woman from Kansas and a black goat herder-turned-academic from Kenya, Obama delivered an unsentimental account of squandered opportunities in postcolonial Africa. America's first black president spoke with a bluntness that perhaps could only come from a member of Africa's extended family.

So true, cc.

Obama is everyman to everyman, eh? After all, he did claim to be a "citizen of the world" (8/08) and that he had come to "change the world." (11/08) And as to that, I believe him.

Promised $63,000,000,000 in aid to wild applause.

Told them they must work hard and clean up their act,

Sound of crickets.

He sounds like the Church Lady to me. Every speech is a scolding for someone.

Talk about an ego. Like all liberals, for him, all history started with the day he was born and only he and his ilk is above the fray of us plebes.

I can't stand to watch or listen to him.

Yesterday I caught an American journalist asking him why he said one thing in the states but was saying something else in Europe.

Obama told the reporter, “I’m saying this now and that’s what I want you to report.”

By “good governance”, Obama means “world governance”. Ghana is just another workforce in the global workers’ collective that Obama/Soros wants to impose on humanity.

Development depends upon good governance

Good governance is getting out of the way of development a concept he is totally unfamiliar with. His statement is meant to imply that government will be the initiator of development which is what African totalitarian states have tried. The difference between Osama and Robert Mugabe is only a matter of degree.
