The Wheelchair Nazis will end up shutting down the place with the best burgers in the world. Eating a "Squeeze with Cheese" has been described as a religious experience.

The disabilities act of 1990 was signed in by G. H Bush. This only goes to show that any government power grab, even by republicans is bad because it always ends up crushing freedom in the end. Just shows what happens once we stray from constitutional limits.

What’s the going court rate on “embarrassment and humiliation”? And will a little cash ease that emotional trauma?

I’ll bet that this Kimberly Block person has a lawyer with a long record of ADA lawsuits. Hell, I’ll be that she is a professional plaintiff.

Let me tell ya something about the squeeze inn. You can walk to the back of the little shack and there is a area with tables. She could go out to the back and easily find a table and one of the lovely waitresses would come out and take her order.. This is BS.. I hate to see people I know put up with this garbage.

The Squeeze with Cheese rocks.
The Sacramento location in tiny, hence the name.

It only has room for about 3 or 4 people at a counter in front The rest of the building is the kitchen.

I disagree with you, my cousin was paralyzed in a hunting accident and I see no reason why a business should not be made to adhere to the American’s with Disabilities Act...just because you are confined to a wheelchair shouldn’t mean you can’t enjoy a burger.

Seems to me a carry out window will solve the problem.

I used to think so too....until I had to drag my grandmothers wheel-chair up two levels (steps) to get into her Optometrists’ office. I am 5’1 and small and she was 5’10 and large and it was no easy task.

Seriously... look at the picture in post #7. Should the owner be required to rebuild the “historical” building so that a wheelchair can fit in the building? Besides, there’s a patio out back that people in wheelchairs can use to have their burger.

Aother favorite is the modification of intersections in exurbia to make them wheel chair accessable when the only pedestrians are long distance runners.

“I see no reason why a business should not be made”

Not every mom and pop business can afford to. Why should they be forced to close down to all the other customers to accomodate one? This is not freedom.

And a business should not have to shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars just to accomodate one person out of 100 thousand....small shops have had to close because they did not have elevators to reach a small second floor...the few need to adjust themselves to the many, not the other way around

If there is a patio in the back with a ramp then what’s the problem? Is there a ramp?

"...just because you are confined to a wheelchair shouldn’t mean you can’t enjoy a burger."

How about having the common sense to have one in a place that can accomodate you?

It would be great if we ALL had our wishes to have the world rebuilt to please us.

Is there a ramp?

The staff will come outside, take your order, and deliver your food to your table!

I'll second that bet. There's people who make their living by driving around town and searching for ADA non-compliance.
