The Jackson family has decided to bring Michael's body to the memorial service being held today at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, putting off the announced plans for a private internment at Forest Lawn cemetery from 8 a.m. PDT to after the service.
The 10 a.m. PDT service is being broadcast on all the major American broadcast and cable news networks, as well as in theaters across the country, the Times Square jumbotron in New York City and on TV screens around the world.
From Entertainment Weekly, performers and friends expected at the service include: Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Berry Gordy, Jennifer Hudson, Shaheen Jafargholi, Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields, Usher and Stevie Wonder.
Michael's Jackson's close friend Elizabeth Taylor declined an invitation to speak at the service, writing in part on Twitter: "I cannot be part of the public whoopla."
In a strange but fitting twist of fate, the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus elephant parade through the streets of Los Angeles is set to take place this morning with the elephants arriving at the Staples Center just hours before the service for the circus' scheduled run at the arena.

Donte Zierway, 33, who flew to Los Angeles from Buffalo after entering the online lottery on Saturday, moonwalked with joy upon picking up his two tickets.
I spent $700 to come here, said Mr. Zierway, who works for a collections agency. I just came. I entered my name, I prayed, and I got on a plane. Then I found out today that I had a ticket.
He gave one of his tickets to a stranger he met at the Staples Center, Celine Althaus, 27, who had just arrived after a 30-hour flight from Switzerland and did not win a ticket. Were friends now, Mr. Zierway said. We had a few drinks last night. Were both here for the same reason, and we both traveled a distance.
I’m waiting for Jackson to jump out of the coffin and say just kidding.
Thanks for the correction. I had a feeling I using the wrong word.
An entire nation (and world?) fiddles while Rome burns.
This is gonna end up looking like the Ayatollah Khomeini’s funeral, where a huge riotous crowd grabbed his coffin and paraded it around the streets, almost dumping the body out on several occasions.

Enough already, just get him into the ground, & let’s forget about this bozo! We have a lot more pressing issues to deal with, like how congress & the zre0 are send us down the river of socialism!
However you say it, Forest Lawn cemetery will never be the same. I was just there a couple of weeks ago, very peaceful and serene.
I really wish that FR wasn’t covering this.
Will Bubbles the chimp he there too?
MK lived, slept and ate with Bibbles till he had enough of him. God only knows what he did to poor Bubbles.

Those that don't live it are considered PERVERTS.
Ah, but there lies the beauty. The MSM doesn’t want you paying attention to that.
