Yet the MSM say 0bama “enjoys popularity in the polls.”

This is like breathing for them...if somehow he falls below 50% on a regular basis, they’ll pretty much have to commit hari kari...

“On the surface (bank rescue), everything appears to follow the Bush-Obama bailout paradigm. In reality, it is a cash transfer from middle America (future generations especially) to the California arm of the NEA and other public “works” unions.”

Interesting, thank you for your insight.

“But I don’t think 2001/2009 is directly relevant since 9/11 skewed Bush’s popularity. Actually 2009 vs 1977 might be more interesting.”
+++++++++++

9/11 didn’t happen til the 8.5 months in for Bush...akin to this September for bambi. It would be a better comparison than the -33 to -3 thing.

I agree with your second point!

“You mean losing control of Congress to the Reps?”

Yes, of course it wasn't good for his party but it was always all about Bill anyways. It gave him a scape goat for his own short comings and allowed him to position himself as “Conservative” Democrat. More importantly, the resulting grid lock allowed not to pursue large spending/debt increases and major policy changes his core constituency wanted (i.e. universal health care/further liberalization gays in the military).

Clinton certainly got a lot of mileage out of the OKC bombing, but it didn't equal the six years triangulating the Republican congress.

“makes me wish there was truly a viable alternative to the Republican Party. “
+++++++++++++

We need to drive the R party back into the arms of its conservative base - that is our alternative. That is reality when it comes to the non-parliamentary US political structure.

“0bama doesn’t care about polls.”
+++++++++++++
While polls are to be mistrusted and really scrutinized, they do matter. When Bambi has Helen Thomas, perhaps Newsweek, and other libtards turning on him, he has overreached. This type of evisceration of support in the polling will take it's toll eventually.

But he doesn't care because by that time he will have done irreparable damage.

Not as badly as Europe, but let’s be vigilent and make sure of that in future.

You could be right - I hope and pray not. I still am cheering this and the Ohio poll and am looking for further slippage. Perhaps the Tea Parties have something to do with getting this message out.

Clearly, if as you imply, they (Obama.com and Acorn) can figure out how to rig the future elections, we’re screwed.

We must fight this battle now!

With the exception of SCOTUS Bush was definitely worse than Ford. Ford issued hundreds of vetoes. Bush issued like 5.
