Im confused by all the confusion among the chattering classes about Palin. I thought her press conference explained it very clearly though she couldnt put it precisely this way without sounding vain, but its obvious.
Even though shes just a state governor, shes a HUGE national star who is both sought after and attacked as if she is already a president (a Bush, not an Obama). But she basically cant participate because shes tethered to the governors office up in Alaska. Consequently, she has to fight with one hand tied behind her back and she also cant go around the country campaigning for candidates and principles she believes in because shes governor and would be accused of neglecting the state.
Meanwhile, the Lt. Gov. is a great guy, so shes leaving the state in good hands and now she can go on to be an even bigger star.
Its a weird Washington insider perspective to be perplexed by what shes doing. Contrary to Mark Sanfords e-mails to his mistress, no one was really impressed with him; 99.99999999999999999% of Americans didnt know who he was. Who is more influential: Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge and Bill OReilly, or Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal and Mark Sanford (before the fall)? As Palin said, God bless people who run for political office, but and she didnt say this part shes too big to be a lame-duck governor stuck dealing with fishing licenses in Anchorage right now.
Shell be much bigger now and can play on the national stage without constantly setting off state ethics investigations by loons, parasites and liberals. None of this applied to McCain or Kerry both of whom went back to the Senate because their national campaigns diminished them. Palins national campaign made her a major star. As she said, shes not retreating, shes advancing in another direction.
That had to have been Liz Tratta, former NBC reporter. Usually she’s pretty good.
Unfortunately, Odumba with ACORN's help will be trying
to change the 22nd Amendment. Perhaps Palin will be
able to help elect some strong conservatives in 2010.
At least enough to thwart his grab ala Chavez & Zelaya.
Ann's only flaw in this article is repeating herself twice at the end of this sentence.
The Great One, Mark Levin had the same take on it. His July 3rd show is Worth listening to.
She certainly was the epitome of harridan ... name was Troller, Trotts, something like that. Just popped out of the woodwork, don’t recall ever having seen her, or reading anything from her before.

Sorry, mispelled her name...it’s Trotta.
Every now and again, Ann Coulter reminds me that she’s more than just a pretty provocateur...
The only explanation that makes sense. Other conservative commentators have pointed out that the Alaskan system seems to lay governors open to endless gratuitous ethics complaints. Anyone with a computer, an envelope and a stamp can file one, and it still costs the accused official thousands to deal with it. The usual suspects had figured this out, and were firing away systematically in an organized fashion. So of course, she was running up unsustainable legal bills.
However, the Soros gang is dancing the Mamooshka (re: “The Addams Family” movie) way to early. This also frees her up go national, as well as start studying for the big time (not to mention make some real $$). As Ann said, she leaves behind an excellent replacement.
The libs may be celebrating now, but they will live to regret this big time.
What is great about these “sea change” moments is that you know which operatives you can trust, which insiders have conservatives’ backs, which commentators are part of the establishment and which one’s are real conservatives.
It doesn’t suprise me that Coulter and Levin are at the foregront...
Liz Trotta has been around for a long time, got her start back when with NBC.
Usually she takes a pretty conservative, media-cracking line.
I think Ann is right, and I think the nattering nabobs are too stupid to realize that Palin is bigger than any of them. She was pretty clear what her intentions were. You just had to listen and take her at her word.
They don’t know whats about to hit them.
That’s right: Liz Tratta. And I was surprised because I’ve seen her before and she usually is pretty good. She early on commented on the media’s love affair with the Obummer. But today she was just unhinged. The anchor (wish I could recall his name) was so taken aback - when Tratta was complaining about how Gov. Palin doesn’t have enough experience for national office, he tried to hint that maybe the Obummer didn’t have all that much, either, and Tratta just rolled right over him. Must have not taken her meds.
...at the forefront.
Oh. Thought her name was Liz Trotter.

Thank you Ann! I was getting tired repeating the obvious. Maybe know they will listen.
Oh, now I remember her, she’s the one that made the crack about Osama bin Laden and Obama. I’m not going to post the entire phrase, not up for a middle-of-the-night visit, lol.
Quite the sea change in her attitude, or perhaps she’s just another NE media corridor victim like Noonan or Parker.
“...had a wonderful thought, President Palin putting Ann on the Supreme Court.”
OR AT THE VERY LEAST—THE PRESS SECRETARY!
LET’S PUT THAT WITTY TONGUE AND HER GOOD LOOKS TO OUR BEST ADVANTAGE!
No excuse for that. Trotta's old enough to remember that nobody held it against Slick, when he was rapist governor of Arkinsaw, that he had Zero experience in foreign policy.
Same thing was true of Jack Kennedy. Lyndon Johnson was no paragon of world affairs, either. Jimmuh? Don't make me laugh.
Dan Quayle, on the other hand, could run rings around all those guys on foreign and defense issues, issues like nuclear weapons policy and disarmament. Did that count? Noooo!
Funny thing, I can’t remember his name either, and he and she have a bit every Sunday AM.
He is bland, isn’t he?
