I'm going to tell you right now, I like Palin. I still think what she did on Friday was ill advised and self-defeating. That being the case, I'm going to tell others on the forum how I see it. And part of that is based on the reality that IMO a large spectrum of Independents and Democrats are going to see this resignation differently than we do.

IMHO I don't believe anyone is going to look at Palin's resignation and form a negative opinion of it based on personal experience. That's an open book; a blank page the Marketing firm of Main, Stream and Media are desparate to write and yes it will all be negative.

However, I question an approach of cowaring to powerful anit-conservative media outlets due to sticks and stones and thereby allow them to prevent key opposition steps toward political victory.

There needs to be an immediate reaction to the statist march. I see Palin's resignation as nothing but positive for the movement.

Trust me, you don't want to go there.

I wouldn’t if it didn't follow me every where I go...

You get it because of your background. It's the elitism that I was responding to....No one is calling you an elitist Miss D. I should have been more specific.

But many members of the coastal GOP are just that—elitists. The moneyed, socially plugged in coastal GOP don't get it, and they have controlled the GOP for years, locally and nationally. (Bush(S) ,Romney, etc)

The regular people don't really have a choice in who the candidates are, they have a choice to vote on the candidates selected by the machine. They like you don't fit the mold, if you did you would have your servants buy your groceries and your people press your clothes.

Do you see any reference to Beckett calling ANYONE a pinhead woman in the post I responded to?

The only thing mentioned there as an infraction was a an arguable point.

uh ... Deb your pal ejonesie22 might get mad at me and come to your defense, but you did say this earlier in the thread about Kristol and Palin:

Unfortunately, she has also "thrown off" the pundits who were her biggest champions. The ones she'll need in the future for any political aspirations. Poor Bill Kristol sounded like a rape victim this morning.

and ...

I did name names. Bill Kristol (who was almost single-handedly responsible for her nomination) was shell-shocked this morning. She left her supporters hanging in the wind with no notice and some weird basketball/fishing analogy.

It would seem that "one-a-row" Kristol was always in her camp?

Bill Kristol Predicts Sarah Palin’s Path to the 2012 Presidency (Mild Barf Alert

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2286136/posts

Politicus USA ^ | July 5, 2009 | J.M. Easley
On Fox News Sunday this morning, Weekly Standard editor, and FNC contributor, Bill Kristol predicted Sarah Palin’s path to the White House in 2012. He predicted that Palin would become a leader of conservatives, the leader of the GOP, and then president, just like Obama did. According to Kristol, Palin is just like Obama. Here is the video courtesy of Think Progress: (VIDEO AT LINK) Kristol said, “Barack Obama ran for Senate in 2004, was elected to the Senate and the moment he was sworn in began running for president of the United States. He had no Senate leadership record...

This whole situation is hilarious.
She has the people in the media all confused.
They are driven to speculate, and in doing so can't help themselves in giving her the national spotlight. When they finally get around to figuring out what happened she will probably have another surprise to spring on them.
They seem to want her in their “gun sight,” so she is using that for a national spotlight for her own agenda.
This is going to be interesting, I am sure.

Romney only got out of having to take responsibility for Romneycare because of the overwhelming Democratic state congress and Deval Patrick getting elected. However, it’s still HIS.

And thanks for reminding me about having fun. Trying to knock out Stats homework is a pain.

Oh, good lord, I never said he wasn't still in her camp. Of course, he is, because, as I said later, he practically discovered her. But she gave him no notice, which would have been right to do, and left him hanging out there saying things like "crazy like a fox" and other blathering inanities.

If you are going to quote part of my posts, at least, read all of them. It will be fun and there's pie at the end.

My point, along with a few other posters, is that you were sticking up, and *continued* to stick up, for beckett despite the fact that he called Sarah a “pinhead woman.”
