(CNN) The "architect" of George W. Bush's successful presidential campaigns has questions about Sarah Palin's resignation as governor.
"It's a risky strategy," Republican campaign mastermind Karl Rove told "Fox News Sunday."
Palin's unexpected announcement Friday that she will step down with 18 months left in her first term has left many in her party "a little perplexed," said Rove, whom Bush dubbed "The Architect" for managing his two victorious campaigns in 2000 and 2004.

The whole thing is so disgusting. I think our founding fathers foresaw this but I doubt they imagined the absolute viciousness.
Except for helping a campaign ROVE was everything that was wrong with the Bush Administration. He WAS the big amnesty pusher with his buddy Grover Norquist. The sooner the likes of Rove are gone the better the GOP will be. Rove doesn’t even follow the RNC platform...”We DO NOT SUPPORT AMNESTY”
All of the guessing, second guessing and pontification dosn’t impress me much. I’ll happily wait and see what happens. I supported her in the past, I respect her and thank her now and if she runs again I will certainly support her.If she retires from politics completely
for the good of her family or for any other personal reason she has,I support that too.
Its not abrupt. People knew this was coming hence the pre-emptive strategy of framing this issue in terms of “madness”, “instability”, through VF hit piece and beyond.
Simply, you are a drama queen and very likely a fool. Rove has positives and negatives, but questioning his patriotism makes you sound like that little fa&&ot Keith Olberfuhrer.
I don’t think people knew this was coming.
Strategy?
She did what was best for her family and her state that she served.
Carl Rove knows his shit....thats been proven over and over. He doesnt have inside knowledge on why shes done this so of course its hard to see a strategy. The screwey policies of the Bush Administration werent always his he just advised them on how to go about achieving what they wanted.
I firmly believe Sarah would be well advised to seek Roves advise on things then decide for herself.
I beleive hes at least honest and loyal.
The last thing Palin needs is a bunch of worshipping Yes-men like we have here on FR.
I called it dripping hatred, but it’s more than that. What we are seeing cannot be understood by only looking at the temporal.
Ironic isn’t it? “Mittbots”, and “Bushbots” are getting trashed (along with Rove) by Palin supporters.
I have NEVER seen such blind allegiance to a candidate until encountering Palin’s followers. (Other than Zero disciples).
Tee hee.
Guess she didn’t consult with Rove first!
boo hoo
They are confused because they believe both predict the future.
This is a foolish mistake, because both history and statistics report what Has HAPPENED and not what will.
Sarah, with all of our help will prove the statisticians as well as Rove and the lefties, very wrong and the incredulous look on their faces will betray their utter ignorance.
Rove is a lightening rod for criticism from the left. I don’t see how it would be a good thing for him to come out in support of and Sarah.

My defense against slandering Palin has nothing to do with any allegiance. Most feel the same. I need to know more on her POLICY stands before endorsing her for candidate of anything. I defended Bush when he was lied about, I defended Romney when he was lied about, EVEN though they are two of the BIG problems with the GOP. There is plenty to criticize them both about.
Does it bother you that any person is slandered or just your chosen candidates...whoever they might be?
I appreciate him for keeping alGoron and John effin’ Kerry out of the Whitehouse. I am glad that the we at least have the lasting benefit of John Roberts and Sam Alito.
Outside of that, I’ve no use for him and the GOP in general because they did more to advance progressivist/statist goals over the last 8 years than the entire Democrat party combined.
Rove, Krystal, et al, led us to what we have today, a spineless GOP leadership without a clue, trying to show that they’re important.
It’s time for something new. Conservative liberalism. Focusing on what is IMPORTANT. Not minutia.
