Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran
The Times ^ | July 5, 2009 | Uzi Mahnaimi in Tel Aviv and Sarah Baxter

The head of Mossad, Israel’s overseas intelligence service, has assured Benjamin Netanyahu, its prime minister, that Saudi Arabia would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets flying over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Earlier this year Meir Dagan, Mossad’s director since 2002, held secret talks with Saudi officials to discuss the possibility.

The Israeli press has already carried unconfirmed reports that high-ranking officials, including Ehud Olmert, the former prime minister, held meetings with Saudi colleagues. The reports were denied by Saudi officials.

“The Saudis have tacitly agreed to the Israeli air force flying through their airspace on a mission which is supposed to be in the common interests of both Israel and Saudi Arabia,” a diplomatic source said last week.

This is surreal. What would be the motivation for making this public?

That’s good, because Obummer wouldn’t allow an overflight of Iraq.

Exactly.

No matter what their reasons, I would have thought the Saudis would not wanna be on record (officially or otherwise) agreeing to an Israeli raid.

Sunni vs Shia war, which should have been settled 1400 years ago

The House of Saud will have no problem with Jews attacking Shias. The House of Saud would find the Jewish people much more legitimate then the Shia people

To give Iran one more chance to back down and negotiate.

Iran will be forced to fight back will Hez. and hamas. It will be ugly.

Going the extra mile for peace sits well with the Almighty, I believe.

Quite ethical. You should warn someone to stop before shooting, and having the nod from the Saudis shows that Iran does not have approval of all Arab nations. If I were Syria, Iraq, and Jordan, I would also be nervous if Iran should want to wipe Israel off the map because of location.

Also, Israel needs to become stronger in the eyes of her neighbors since they no longer have an ally in the White House.

"Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran"

Well this is no secret. Anyone who understands the ME knows it isn't Israel that is the main objective of a nuclear Iran. It's control over the entire ME and it's oil fields, that is the goal. Control that, and you control Europe, and plenty of Asia as well. Putin isn't working behind the scenes propping up Iran and those other "Stan" nations for nothing.

In biblical terms, it's the rise of the fourth and final Persian Empire

the only logical answer would be to instigate a coup in Iran. The only danger would be if you are bluffing and you are called on it.

Ain’t it amazing how the “joos and muzzies” can get along when the outcome is to both their benefits?

yes it does, but that always seems to be Israels undoing, doesn't it. And according to prophecy, failing to obey that age old command will be it's undoing once again.

I remember the Saudis being pissed about the assasination of Rafik Hariri, which was probably orchastrated by Iran’s proxy Hezbulah. I think the only ones who like Iran are Assad’s government and the American and European left.

I think you're right. Maliki launched last year's assault on Basra without even telling the US Army it was happening.

maybe your God feels that way...not mine, my God taught evil had to be destroyed sometimes...negotiating doesn't accomplish that as rule
