VANITY: Possible way for Romney to gain Palin's support [mega baforama!!]
July, 4, 2009 | yongin

Posted on 07/04/2009 5:09:47 AM PDT by yongin

Many FReepers are skeptical of Romney's conservative credentials. They don't like his past positions on abortion, healthcare, and gay marriage. They feel his rightward shift on social issues to be less than sincere.

Many conservatives are angered by the Left's attempts to character assassinate Palin thru silly ethics complaints. They have made Palin's administration and family into side shows. The ethics complaints have driven her to be $500,000 in debt.

This situation might provide an opening for Romney to gain Palin's support. Romney could step in to pay off Palin's legal debt. He then could make a speech about how conservatives must unite against the Far Left with Palin giving her endorsement. If Romney does this action, would it make him acceptable to Freepers?

If he was so acceptable to “many” freepers, why did he never clear better than 13-15% on any given poll here during the primaries.

Seems you “handful” of “bitter Romney Bashers” (AKA Conservatives) is in a much larger and more popular hand than the couple of fingers worth of his wayward ardent supporters here..

Romney does not even have the capability to work animal control.

"But the details of the event are more than unseemly — they may, in fact, be illegal.
Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone
from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel
or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the
animal carried thereon.
" An officer for the Massachusetts Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation
saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out." The officer,
Nadia Branca, declined to give a definitive opinion on whether Romney broke the law
but did note that it's against state law to have a dog in an open bed of a pick-up truck,
and "if the dog was being carried in a way that endangers it, that would be illegal."

"Dog on Roof? What Was It Like for Romney's Pooch?
Scientists Say Dog Likely Experienced Wind-Whipped, Uncomfortable Trip
"Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family's hulking Irish setter,
in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon's roof rack.
e'd built a windshield for the carrier, to make the ride more comfortable for the dog," read the article.
Jordan Kaplan, the owner of Petaholics, a dog walking service in New York City,
and a lifelong dog owner and dog lover, said Romney's actions were uncalled for.
....What Happens to a Dog on a Roof Traveling 50 MPH?"

"Romney's dog - This is a distinction Mitt Romney probably could do without, but he is surely
the first presidential candidate to be attacked for putting a dog with diarrhea
in a carrier and tying it to the top of a station wagon.
Romney's defense: Seamus liked it. "He scrambled up there every time we went on trips,"
the Republican said during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh. "He got in all by himself and enjoyed it."

"As the oldest son, Tagg Romney commandeered the way-back of the wagon,
keeping his eyes fixed out the rear window, where he glimpsed the first sign of trouble.
''Dad!'' he yelled. ''Gross!'' A brown liquid was dripping down the back window,
payback from an Irish setter who'd been riding on the roof in the wind for hours.
As the rest of the boys joined in the howls of disgust,
Romney coolly pulled off the highway and into a service station.
There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car,
then hopped back onto the highway."

"Story about dog on car roof comes back to bite Romney
Critics, jokesters make issue of tale
TIME.com's Swampland blog has been flooded with more than 200 comments
from readers complaining of animal cruelty"

Romney's bad behavior Exposed by Seamus

"Romney Loses Nomination Over Dog Abuse?
Romney was traveling that summer with his wife, five sons, and Seamus to his parent's cottage on Lake Huron.
But hours into the ride, Seamus apparently suffered diarrhea,
which ran down the back window of the car. Romney's sons, all under 13, howled in disgust.
Romney pulled off the road into a service station.
There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car, and they drove on to Ontario.
.....David Kravitz wrote on BlueMassGroup, a liberal blog.
"It also strikes me as classic Romney: it solves a problem efficiently,
in a business-like manner, and with no regard whatsoever
for the suffering that the solution may cause."

If the Republicans can’t come up with a candidate that can defeat Obama, then we reap what we sow. Romney is like McCain: trying to move to the left to win. It didn’t work with McCain, so why on earth would you think it would work with Romney? And, given what he did to MA, what reasons could you possibly offer for him being any better than Obama?

That’s just silly - Sarah is a conservative and Romney is a moderate/liberal, never the two shall meet.

JimRob, I think the FREEPER is addressing you!

“WeÂ’re just bored with fighting the same stupid arguments with the same handful of bitter Romney-bashers.”

Mitt is an idiot.

Conservatives are already united.

What's that got to do with the one term( and only half of that, really) elected, uber ambitious, tone deaf, shape changer Mitt?

Just speaking as an observer (I'm still waiting for somebody new), I see Romney fans maybe supporting Palin, but the other way around would be very cold day in HELL.

Romney has shown his colors, and they are not and never will be the standard that I will support.

Screw the Vichy RINO.

You are either very naive, or you are seriously challenged mentally.

When a candidate like Romney has so little support from the Conservative base, (And, we ARE the Conservative base here on this site.) there is an abundance of negative feedback towards the Used Car/Insurance Salesman some of you call Mitt Romney.

Other than the fact that he is a phony RINO, reads his speeches like a script, and matches his personality and agenda to what ever audience he has at the moment, he would make a fine Grand Marshal for a Moderate/Independent Government Health Care Convention.

Other than that, he ain't worth damn.

Romney will lose to The One.....he’s been opposed to abortion, or for it, depending on the job he’s held. He’s been for and against homosexual unions.

Please...don’t let the media nominate another GOP presidential candidate.

Why is it I have almost never seen a FR Rombott have anything on their Freeper page? It's as if there are only two of you, or for some reason Rombots don't like to reveal anything about themselves.

Knowing Mitt, and his grinding, ways, it as if the Mittbots have dedicated members to denigrate factual, historical and political criticism of brother Mitt.

Romney will never be acceptable to me because he is a political opportunist. End of story. Let the chips fall where they may and let’s have a fair fight among all republican the candidates.

Funny, you seem to have a vision problem.

Understandable, you see Mitt as a conservative, but that's another matter.

You seemed to see Diogenesis photoshopped talent, but not the numerous links to facts about Mitt's less than stellar Conservative recorded and underhanded backdoor politicking...

When you see those and have real answers for them you will have two things, the first being a point, the second a record for being the first Mitt Sycophant to actually address his shortcomings on FR.

You may well be famous if you did that...

Ditto!

I have been a FReeper for a number of years and I don't believe the amount of actual hatred that runs through these threads.

To have an opinion on an issue or a political candidate that goes against, what I am assuming is the acceptable FR dominate way of thinking, has lead to some pretty sarcastic and down right mean pings to my account.

I am starting to feel uncomfortable in a group of folks that I use to enjoy. I wonder what the consensus will be if Sarah has left to accept an offer by Romney to join him in ‘12 as a VP candidate or for a post in his Administration?

Happy 4th to All. I'm going to celebrate being an American.

Why does Romney need Palin’s support? What’s wrong with him that he can’t stand on his own merit?
