VANITY: Possible way for Romney to gain Palin's support [mega baforama!!]
July, 4, 2009 | yongin

Posted on 07/04/2009 5:09:47 AM PDT by yongin

Many FReepers are skeptical of Romney's conservative credentials. They don't like his past positions on abortion, healthcare, and gay marriage. They feel his rightward shift on social issues to be less than sincere.

Many conservatives are angered by the Left's attempts to character assassinate Palin thru silly ethics complaints. They have made Palin's administration and family into side shows. The ethics complaints have driven her to be $500,000 in debt.

This situation might provide an opening for Romney to gain Palin's support. Romney could step in to pay off Palin's legal debt. He then could make a speech about how conservatives must unite against the Far Left with Palin giving her endorsement. If Romney does this action, would it make him acceptable to Freepers?

Yes, what part of “free republic” do you not get?

Oh, and by the way, I partially agree with you.

It was moderates (especially Charlie Crist whose last minute endorsement enabled McCain to win FL).

But let’s face it, Huckabee and Mitt split the more conservative wing. Many of the Huckabee supporters that I know personally had a big problem with Mitt being Mormon. So who’s really to blame?

Oh, looking at my sign-up date compared to yours, I would say that any level of confusion belongs to you, in regards to understanding this forum.

I won't split hairs in regards to why we lost the election. The biggest problem was 9 candidates that fragmented the base at the start and no clear direction or candidate capable of getting through to the ignorant public.

The result was, McCain snuck in through the back door with the ignorant moderates who have no clue, vote. We all lost that day, because the party lost all Conservative direction and has become a Morally Relative “Big Tent” like the Democrats.

The cure can be read on this forum every day. We go back to strict Conservative Principles or the country is hopelessly lost. No Moderate counterfeits or substitutes allowed!

He has never been a conservative and will never get my support. I held my nose and voted for McCain only because Sarah was on the ticket. That will not happen again.

If there is anyone here who doesn't understand why we cannot support a slick socialist politician like Mitt Romney, God help you, but you're on the wrong website. We went through this with the abortionist, gay rights activist, illegal alien supporting, gun grabbing Rudy Giuliani until someone created another website call WAnkers for Rudy and they all flew the coop. Hopefully, before too much FReeper blood is shed, someone will create a WAnkers for Romney site and we can be left to fight the good fight as we see fit!

Bottom line:

John Batchelor: "As a candidate, she begins the nomination hunt with a formula
that none of her rivals can match, not even Mitt Romney,
not only because she gave up something in order to go for the
White House but also because she reached this decision by being drafted.

What is going on right now in the Republican Party—
even as the professionals scramble to react with grins and
snorts to the news of Palin’s Alaska resignation—
are the early scenes of the 2012 campaign for the presidency
with Sarah Palin as the once and future hero. Like Joan of Arc,
Catherine the Great, Elizabeth Regina, and, skipping
four centuries of quarrelsome princes, Margaret Thatcher,
the Republican Party has already decided that the governor of Alaska
will rescue the GOP from its ruination.
What Sarah Palin begins with an announcement from
Wasilla is not only a campaign, it is an Iditarod of a crusade—
first woman, first mom, and second moose-hunter into the White House."

"In fact, the governor does not need much more than a ballot line from the aimless,
tongue-tied, villain-rich GOP. She certainly does not need the GOP to do well
in the congressional mid-terms in 2010; she does not need the party
to improve its flabby polling on health care or trust;
she does not even need the Republican Party to raise a voice
to explain her positions on the burning controversies on Capitol Hill.
Palin does not need to prove anything at all about wise government,
because she appeals directly to the anti-authoritarian crowd that has
been with us since Shay’s Rebellion in 1787."

LOL, so Romney can ease his conscience for his part in all this? I don't think so.

Romeny is a creep and he's not getting anywhere near the presidency. He needs to give it up.

I also dislike Romney ‘casue he supported the bailout, wants socialized medicine, and is a big fan of corporate welfare. Why do these things never get mentioned?

Nobody will ever convince me that Romney isn’t behind a lot of the crap that Palin has had thrown at her. That is his M.O.

He’s a jerk, and will never get my vote.
