"Now suppose youre the president, Jones told them, and the requests come into the White House for yet more force. How do you think Obama might look at this? Jones asked, casting his eyes around the colonels. How do you think he might feel? Jones let the question hang in the air-conditioned, fluorescent-lighted room. Nicholson and the colonels said nothing. Well, Jones went on, after all those additional troops, 17,000 plus 4,000 more, if there were new requests for force now, the president would quite likely have a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot moment. Everyone in the room caught the phonetic reference to WTF which in the military and elsewhere means What the [expletive]? Nicholson and his colonels all or nearly all veterans of Iraq seemed to blanch at the unambiguous message that this might be all the troops they were going to get."
In other words, dont expect any more help if you run into trouble. What a great message to send the Marines as they begin their biggest operation in Afghanistan

Pray For Our Troops!!
Ping!
Pray for our troops! Sounds like they are going to need it now more than ever.
We were told that the troops had been overextended and were going to be pulled out of Iraq to alleviate this. And yet they were merely redeployed.
The Obama staff is unAmerican lying scum.
let me know if you'd like to be on or off the list
I fear that Obama will drop the ball in support for our troops, much like Clinton did in Somalia, except this time it could be much, much worse.
We’ve gone from “Win One for the Gipper” to “Suck it up for the TOTUS”
“Imagine you were the President...”.
Sorry Sir, I can’t do that. I have a birth certificate, witnessed and signed by the doctor who delivered me.
FUBO
I know ... keep praying for our military.
These Rules of Engagement are insane.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Granting a very few atypical incidents, avoiding civilian casualties is an integral element of all American war fighting. No special rules of engagement need to be issued. Not recognizing this fact ignores and insults the basic character of the American fighting man and woman. It might be a good idea for President Obama and his civilian advisors to spend a few weeks with the Army and Marines to get some idea of what really motivates the U.S. military. Apparently General Jim Jones, USMC Ret., the national security advisor, has forgotten what he once knew.
Better yet, ask former Democratic Senator Bob Kerrey: He lost his right leg below the knee in the process of an action in Vietnam that won him the Congressional Medal of Honor. On a previous mission to destroy a VC headquarters at Thanh Phong, he led a SEAL team that inadvertently killed a substantial number of women and children. That’s war, Mr. President, and you better damn well get used to it!”
Well put!
Obama constantly lives in a WTF moment.
Did I not say that this POS would end up betraying our troops in the field????? For expedience sake? Give ‘em up to cut a deal????
And the US isturning into one big MCF....
Thanks for the link. It sounds like a suicidal order for our troops if they are expected to live among the population yet not fire their weapons if civilians are around!!
I think most freepers are and remain fearful of this very thing. Just as we start to think we can’t get any more outaged at this administration..they pull something like this!
The truth? I can't handle the truth!
Our fighting men and women deserve far better than the gutter scum who’s now their CiC.
This has literally brought me to tears. I am so fearful for our troops right now. At least with President Bush we knew he would do everything in his power to arm, train and support them and he damn sure would not give them orders that would tie their hands behind their backs!
