Some people just don't get the TEA Parties. RINO Romney is just more of the same. Dump him!

The TEA Party movement is about kicking out the two-faced lying politicians who think more about gaining power than they do about defending our Liberty. Romney is just one more lying two-faced whore of a politician. Don't fall for his slick willie routine. He's a statist in love with socialism and government power.

Don't make me start posting the videos and transcripts of his abortionist/socialist record. I have them archived and FR will be wall-to-wall Truth About Romney if he gets anywhere close to running for president.

He needs to GET LOST!!

DONT TREAD ON ME!!

The messages from your sect are just like the messages we get from Romney - all over the place.

The LDS Church is a shifty as the blowing sands and will say and do whatever is politically expedient at the time. They are wishy washy on abortion. They changed their stance on polygamy and racism when they were pressured to do so by political means. Watch and see. If forced to do so, they will even change their position on gay marriage. They are conservative in morality - but definitely NOT conservative in matters of personal free will. Oooops I WONDER where Romney gets it?

America is indeed faced with dangerous times. Any conservative can see it. Your prophet is only declaring what is in plain sight - not much of a prophet at all, when even I (who is a bitter apostate by your standard) can see the perils we face!

Joseph Smith for President

In 1844 the Council of Fifty decided to run Joseph Smith for the presidency of the United States. Klaus J. Hansen said that "the Council of Fifty, while seriously contemplating the possibility of emigration, also considered a rather spectacular alternative, namely, to run its leader for the presidency of the United States in the campaign of 1844.... Smith and the Council of Fifty seems to have taken the election quite seriously, much more so, indeed, than both Mormons and anti-Mormons have heretofore suspected" (Quest for Empire, p.74).

The elders of the church were actually called to electioneer for Joseph Smith. At a special meeting of the elders on April 9, 1844, Brigham Young declared: "It is now time to have a President of the United States. Elders will be sent to preach the Gospel and electioneer" (History of the Church, vol. 6, p.322). At the same meeting Heber C. Kimball affirmed: "... we design to send Elders to all the different States to get up meetings and protracted meetings, and electioneer for Joseph to be the next President" (Ibid., p.325). Mormon writer John J. Stewart refers to those who were sent to campaign as a "vast force of political missionaries" (Joseph Smith the Mormon Prophet, p.209).

Under the date of January 29, 1844, this statement is attributed to Joseph Smith in the History of the Church, "If you attempt to accomplish this, you must send every man in the city who is able to speak in public throughout the land to electioneer.... There is oratory enough in the Church to carry me into the presidential chair the first slide" (vol. 6, p.188).

On March 7, 1844, Joseph Smith was reported to have said: "When I get hold of the Eastern papers, and see how popular I am, I am afraid myself that I shall be elected..." (History of the Church, vol. 6, p.243).

The fact that Joseph Smith would allow himself to be crowned king shows that he was driven by the idea of gaining power. It is very possible that Smith seriously believed that he would become president and that he would rule as king over the people of the United States. The attempt by Joseph Smith to become president seems to have been a treasonous plot to bring the United States Government under the rule of the priesthood. Klaus J. Hansen observed: "But what if, through a bold stroke, he could capture the United States for the Kingdom? The Council of Fifty thought there might be a chance and nominated the Mormon prophet for the Presidency of the United States" (Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, Autumn 1966, p.67).

George Miller, who had been a member of the Council of Fifty, recorded in a letter dated June 28, 1855:

It was further determined in Council that all the elders should set out on missions to all the States to get up an electorial [sic] ticket, and do everything in our power to have Joseph elected president. If we succeeded in making a majority of the voters converts to our faith, and elected Joseph president, in such an event the dominion of the Kingdom would be forever established in the United States; and if not successful, we could fall back on Texas, and be a kingdom notwithstanding (Letter by George Miller, as quoted in Joseph Smith and World Government, by Hyrum Andrus, 1963, p.54).

Instead of going to Texas the Mormons settled in the Great Salt Lake valley. Hyrum Andrus admits that Smith had even "considered the alternative of establishing the Saints in the capacity of an independent nation, should all other alternatives fail" (Ibid., p.60).

Before the election Joseph Smith was assassinated. Thus he was unable to establish the kingdom he had planned.

Some present-day mormons have the hope that Mitt Romney will fulfill the aims of Joseph Smith "If we succeeded in making a majority of the voters converts to our faith, and elected Joseph president, in such an event the dominion of the Kingdom would be forever established in the United States">

NOTE: LDS church sources are quoted.

AND the religion angle on this thread has been amplified, by a mormon from a single early post.

RE :”But is that a reason to just rollover now?

I am sour on Romney too but have a negative outlook because I despised Mccain and yet heard Hannity rally him as the next Reagan last Fall. Even Levin rallied calling him a patriot. We really need someone like DeMint to get more name recognition for himself. BTW: Hannity promoted Steel for RNC like he worshiped McCain. You see DeMint on Beck and Cavuto but not Hannity.

BTW: Phrase ‘I voted for Palin not McCain’, I hear this all the time here and it makes no sense at all.

It means that McCain was doomed, and the down ticket was doomed because conservatives were so discouraged and disgusted that many would not bother to go to the polls, fund raising was weak, crowds were small, enthusiasm nonexistent and then suddenly McCain made the bold decision to choose Governor Palin.

Palin exploded on the scene and turned the race around, suddenly fund raising increased, and massive crowds started showing up, after a damp, grey, primary full of Romney and McCain a new conservative champion had emerged from Alaska, Governor Palin could not drag McCain across the finish line but she did succeed in firing up the base and getting many conservatives to "vote for Palin, not McCain" which saved us from a total wipe out and saved some lower offices down the ticket.

Turnout is a serious issue and Romney does not inspire people to "turnout" instead he leaves the base uninspired and unenthusiastic.

Get ready to repost those videos, Jim, cause the attempt is definitely going to be made to ram Romney down our throats again.

They've already started. They're trying to clear the field by dirtying up possible opponents (or helping them self-destruct as in the case of Sanford).

I'm not married to Palin as our candidate in 2012. I'm perfectly willing to look at other solid conservatives who are out there. But our message as the conservative base must be crystal clear:

Mitt Romney is totally unacceptable!

It is sad that you’d use such a wonderful forum as FP to further fracture the Republican party.

Really? Are FR operatives behind the Palin smear campaign? Or are they Mitt's minions?

Romney is one of the sleaziest campaigners out there. If you want to talk about a fractured GOP, just look at the shambles Romney left in Massachusetts after his awful term as governor.

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Here’s what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they don’t do it to her, she’ll do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign? (Mark Wallace, Romney pimp)
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

Don't you see the irony in what you are saying? What does Romney really stand for? Do you know? Because I sure as heck don't.

There are plenty of Mormons I admire--heck, my hometown football team is run by one and there are lots of them on the team.

My problem with Flip is not that he's a Mormon--it's that he's not a conservative.

He's a complete and total phony.

Don't you see the irony in what you are saying? What does Romney really stand for? Do you know? Because I sure as heck don't.

To put it in a more positive way, you could also say that no politician stands for more things in more ways than Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney shares his passions.
MITT ROMNEY: “I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for Americas gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.”

“I am not unaware of my opponent’s considerable record in the area of civil rights, or the commitment of Massachusetts voters to the principle of equality for all Americans. For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent’s record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.”

“One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”
