WASHINGTON (AP) - A powerful House committee chairman with a central role in President Barack Obama's global warming and health care legislation has been hospitalized.
Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., was not feeling well Tuesday and was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for "routine testing," spokeswoman Karen Lightfoot said Wednesday.

No real conservative allows some preacher to define their political outlook. The conservative thinks. Thinks for himself, looks at facts, processes information, distinguishes between right and wrong, and judges accordingly. I can hear some preacher talk all day about illegal immigrants, and I couldn’t care less what he says. I know better, I know the realities, and unlike the preacher, I operate in a world where the public doesn’t support me.
Bottom line is, we need to toughen up, period.

I’m seeing this in my family. The commie wing whines that we just have to agree to disagree. I’m now telling them no. I don’t agree to disagree. They, and others like them, are working to destroy what I hold dear and I will not agree to disagree. They might be family, but some things are more important even than family. They might be my family but they are also my enemies. I see no other way. I educate them as I can, but I make it clear that these things matter and they are not my friends.
In the end, they hate what I love and love what I hate...where’s the family in that anyway?
