Many posts and replies indicate that there is a real fear that Obama , who has arrogant despot tendancies , will set himself up as a dictator. As he continues to slip in polling toward Bush and Carter numbers and as his agenda fails to pass this summer many watch nervously to see how he will act out. Keep in mind rule number 1 in setting yourself up as a dictator. It requires the full support of the military. No dictatorship has ever survived or succeeded without the military. The military is usually the source of a coup. Our soldiers are patriots and an overwhelming number of them hate the pretender in chief. The odds of coup against Obama are more realistic than a dictatorship set up by the empty suit. When we look back at this after the 2012 election , after our long national nightmare is over and the pretender in chief is voted out , it will be clear that he was nothing more than an empty suit affirmative action created President that got in way over his head. The democrats will be banished for a generation as we witness the communist pigs they really are.
How many troops constitutes a force?
Add up every federal SWAT team and every strike team from the FBI and DEA and BATFE and every armed federal employee from marine fisheries to customs and ... uh ... that’s a lot of troops!
Backing up each state we have state and local police, a coin-flip National Guard and a militia that no longer exists.
Hmmm ...
He didn’t even have to work hard at #1 because the market was tanking during the campaign season.
I love our military and I hate that such an unworthy man is their commander. I pray it is only for 4 years, but I think it is very possible Obama will declare himself "leader for life."
That is my thought as well. See tagline.
Coming??? What would you call the last few months? {:-)
You might want to check your senses. I served 8 years in the Corps and serve with many vets in the USBP and I know for a fact that any real understanding of the US Constitition is seriouly lacking in the military.
Crap, you made a correct statement, sorry about that! My mistake.
In my opintion, criticizing for the sake of criticizing is a stupid useless action.
I think no one should criticize unless they have a better idea, person, or plan to replace it.
McCain was our best.
This a nice depressing thread with 99% showing little hope and willing to accept it. Time to pack it in and move somewhere smaller where they actually care about the people that live there. I see no hope here and there seems to be little fight left. Everyone is pretty much resigned to what is happening and willing to accept it. That’s why the Michael Jackson thread has more replies than the Cap and Trade threads.
You just proved my point.
Have a nice day.
No worries.
(My son is a BP Agent, BTW).
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What a sight for sore eyes.
No I didn’t.
My point is that nobody seems to be willing to say when enough is enough... even with demonstrable evidence of official impropriety.
Is it any wonder that we have a Congress that doesn’t bother reading the bills they’re voting for? Who’s going to call them on it?
The same question applies to EVERY branch of the government; and yet none will say “It is enough.”
Why?
I think it’s more than enough, but then again I’m an E4 and my opinion means slightly less than a giant pile of shit; as a citizen my opinion seems just about as valuable as it is in the military. *shrug* I suppose I should look at the good side: no responsibility means no accountability.
