'I'm better off dead. I'm done': How Michael Jackson predicted his death six months ago
The Daily Mail ^ | June 28, 2009 | Ian Halperin

Whatever the final autopsy results reveal, it was greed that killed Michael Jackson. Had he not been driven – by a cabal of bankers, agents, doctors and advisers – to commit to the gruelling 50 concerts in London’s O2 Arena, I believe he would still be alive today. During the last weeks and months of his life, Jackson made desperate attempts to prepare for the concert series scheduled for next month – a series that would have earned millions for the singer and his entourage, but which he could never have completed, not mentally, and not physically. Michael knew it and his advisers knew it. Anyone who caught even a fleeting glimpse of the frail old man hiding beneath the costumes and cosmetics would have understood that the London tour was madness. For Michael Jackson, it was fatal. I had more than a glimpse of the real Michael; as an award-winning freelance journalist and film-maker, I spent more than five years inside his ‘camp’. Many in his entourage spoke frankly to me – and that made it possible for me to write authoritatively last December that Michael had six months to live, a claim that, at the time, his official spokesman, Dr Tohme Tohme, called a ‘complete fabrication’. The singer, he told the world, was in ‘fine health’. Six months and one day later, Jackson was dead. Some liked to snigger at his public image, and it is true that flamboyant clothes and bizarre make-up made for a comic grotesque; yet without them, his appearance was distressing; with skin blemishes, thinning hair and discoloured fingernails. I had established beyond doubt, for example, that Jackson relied on an extensive collection of wigs to hide his greying hair. Shorn of their luxuriance, the Peter Pan of Neverland cut a skeletal figure.

His death was a sad end to a disasterous life. He would have been better off investing his wealth earlier in his life rather than building his private amusement park.

At least his death means he won’t have a bad final concert like Elvis.

MJ was a performer from way back. Just looking at his old videos, you know he was driven. As a performer to some extent myself, I can tell you there is an exhilaration to being on stage and making people happy. Also most people don't realize that the simplest act of singing is a physical workout and invigorating exercise. You come off the stage with a better high than any drink or pill could give you.

I'll never believe Jackson was forced to perform. My gut tells me he's been straining at the bit for years, waiting for some notoriety to die down so he can maximize the profit. But these types will get on top of a van and perform, if they have to... hmmm, already did that, didn't he?

SNIPPET: “”The Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan’s son-in-law have taken over completely and are in full and total charge,” said one senior Jackson employee, speaking on condition of anonymity. “They have gone in and taken over control of the finances in terms of who’s getting paid, how much,” the employee added. “They’re approving all funds and have decided they have control of the business manager and accountant, without signing authority or power of attorney. They are working out of Geragos’s office; in essence they’re telling him what to do.”

A business associate of Mr. Jackson who was accustomed to speaking to the singer daily said there were about a half-dozen Nation of Islam members around the singer constantly, whether at Neverland or in Los Angeles. “These people are basically brainwashing him,” said the associate, who is also a friend of Mr. Jackson’s. “They tried to do the same thing to Whitney Houston. They offer a false sense that they can control everything. Everyone is scared of them. They pretty much keep Michael semi-captive.”

Another Jackson employee said: “They’re negotiating business deals with him. They’re negotiating media deals, who can talk, how much. You’ve got a lawyer who’s scared to throw them out. Michael doesn’t know what to do with them.”

The employees said Mr. Geragos and Mr. Muhammad together negotiated an interview of Mr. Jackson by the CBS program “60 Minutes,” which was shown on Sunday, in exchange for an agreement by the network to broadcast a still-incomplete Michael Jackson special, for which Mr. Jackson would be paid $5 million.”

Louis Farrakhan, hmmmm..where have I heard that name before???

I’ve seen 50 year old country singers who would get worn out just standing there strumming a guitar and singing their songs.

Neil Young is just finishing a 32 date tour. Springsteen, Jagger and Dylan are still doing extensive tours. The difference is that they stay in shape and eat right.

If Jackson lived a cleaner life he could have done it. Maybe not the extensive dance routines, but he could have adapted if he were healthy.

If the reports are true about the drugs, he seems to have taken the same path as Elvis and/or Howard Hughes.

"anyone who is 50 can tell you when it comes to physical activity, absolutely no one is as good at 50 as they are at 20."

It's entirely possible, in fact you could even be in better over all physical form at 50 than you were at 20.

For the majority however, their lifestyle, bad eating habits, lack of exercise etc. catches up to them.

I see a lot of 50 year old, men and women who look in much better shape than 20 years olds do these days.

Maybe if you compare a 20 year old athlete with his 50 year old self, assuming he never stopped maintaining his body, yes. One of the main reasons for that however, is that it's unavoidable to bulk up as you get older and fully mature.

But a 50 year old in reasonable shape would be able to do a sign and dance routine no problem.

Look at Tina Turner. She was older than that when she did her last tour.

As long as your cardio system is healthy, a big bag of coke makes anything possible.

IMO, he joins Howard Hughes, Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, etc. (the list could go on forever, and unfortunately, there are too many still alive that are going down this road). These people are money trains for many that could not care less about a human being (or soul) in trouble. They might have been saved from their fate but for the almighty dollar.

I think that, even with royalties on his past work, he had more going out (due to debts) then coming in. I don’t think he was financially solvent enough to retire.

If anyone else heard the short interview that Geraldo did with Michael’s ‘father’ tonight you would understand why Michael was a mess.

Joe Jackson is still, to this day, PROMOTING Michael and his music. He didn’t seem the least bit concerned that his son is DEAD! He sounds like a real bastard and all about the money!

I believe they have found...they just won’t report it.

If Jackson’s estate belongs to the Nation of Islam I won’t be surprised.

Well how do you get that way?

Oh...you build fairytale lands and let others handle the money.

You’d think at some point you’d just squirrel some away for a rainy day.
Actually another report said he was hiding money under the carpets at one point. He must have been surrounded by filthy thieves

You know? If it comes out that, that is true, and a stink is made over Farrakahn and his thugs, It will be the greatest thing Jackson has done since Thriller..

Maybe Bigger

Exactly. I think he had been "propped up" by others for quite some time.
