Great. Ted Poe of Texas voting NO too.
Woot! Roy Blunt up.....hopefully he’s going to be as good as your KS congresscritter.
And just wait till our country is run by the youngsters from the public school system. Bills like cap and trade won't need to be 1000 pages long because our reps won't be able to read it. It'll have just one page that says "Vote yes on this" with a graphic that shows someone standing up and saying "aye."
They put out the test vote to make us think it’s all over. It is NOT. We can stop this! Keep calling. I have called, faxed and emailed all day. Especially to my RINO Congressman Tom Petri (R-WI) who apparently is still sitting on the fence. I am hoping my calls plus many others will knock him “off” the fence! We honestly can stop this. To steal a line from our fearless leader, YES, WE CAN!!!
I’m having trouble listening to Rush AND CSPAN....I’m mad that this horrible bill even made it to the floor.....shame, shame on Democrats.
Don't you think Senate staffers know when a key vote takes place in the House? It's taken me two days to get through to a human being on his phone lines - they're swamped with calls and completely aware of what's happening. They may be stupid about policy, but they're not completely asleep.
Got a local Media report from this morning indicates that the entire Alabama delegation will be voting NO... including a couple of DEMs previously said to be leaning the other way.
The fight is over only when the Fat Lady sings, or the smoke clears from the musket fire.
Someone needs to post the Sean Connery pic "Thats the chicago way" picture.
I know several people from Mass. All are intelligent and wealthy. Yet, they seem drowned in the stupidity that being liberal means being kind and generous. When I suggest that they should spend their own time and money on those causes they like rather than volunteering our money they say that as much as they have it would not be enough even if they gave it all. They are correct but I think they just use that as an excuse to keep their money and still feel good about themselves by giving ours.
After 60+ years of liberalism they seem oblivious to the lack of success these methods have had. More frustrating is that some of them became wealthy as businessmen. How they can repeatedly elect Kennedy, Markey, Kerrey, Frank, etc., is beyond me!
I think much of liberalism among the wealthy and academia, often overlapping, is plain and simple ego. Of course that is true of all of us but moreso among this group. In their case, they feel that they have already achieved material success so they must cap that success by being good human beings, even if being good by their standards means doing evil, i.e. Bill Ayers and wife. That delusion allows them to feel that they are good in every respect, are self-satisfied, and can attend the elite group cocktail parties in good stead and stand around and pretend to admire and respect each other. Just being there is the reward in itself, a confirmation that they have made it, regardless of their true feelings for others, which are usually jealousy and envy. The rest of us are just chattel unworthy of consideration. Is it any wonder they reject God and the Bible?
We know that the real reasons for this Cap and Trade crap are to increase taxes and control while chasing worthless rainbows and refusing to use our readily available natural resources such as oil, gas, and coal and our nuclear technology.
Bottomline, the politicians that these useful idiots have elected seek the destruction of us all, including the liberal halfwits, no matter how intelligent or wealthy.
I know I am saying things with which you agree but I just had to rant and I picked your post as the starting point.
Yeah, and, ironically, coal demand will probably stay pretty strong because of those two countries.
Mike Doyle (D-Pittsburgh) waving around a letter from the head of the steel workers’ union supporting the bill. Yeah, that’s credible....
Vic Snyder is scum as a representative, always has been.
Lock vote for big government & higher taxes.
Every time I see a car with a Snyder sticker, I want to shake some sense into the driver. Being deceived is a real drag, especially since you don’t know you are deceived.
“I think I’ll take the workd of a guy from an agri state vs. the left/east coast liberal idiots when it comes to energy and agriculture.”
Sorry, but that’s unfortunately not a given in my ag state of Wis. My Congressman, Tom Petri (RINO) is still on the fence. We have a Republican congressman from America’s Dairyland who is considering taxing our own cows’ farts! I have been down the doors of his offices all day, but apparently he is still “undecided”.
I’m getting sick of this. They keep saying jobs will be created by this farce. I would just love to know what jobs they’re actually referring to.
Why don’t they just call it the “Destruction of the American Economy Act”?
That would be more honest.
He also said that those who vote for this bill "have seen their last days in Congress in front of them. They are going to lose. The majority of them are going to lose re-election."
"Please, please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion!
Let's not bicker and argue about who killed whose thread. We are here today to witness the union of three no, five threads, in the joyful bond of the preventing this unholy, legislation".
Davis from Tn will be a NO vote
