Congressional phones are busy with "VOTE NO" calls
Local | June 26, 2009 | From The Deer Stand

Thousands of Americans are calling their congressmen and women encouraging them to vote no on the Cap & Trade bill. After receiving busy signals in many congressional offices I have turned to the fax machine and was able to get several to go through. Keep hammering away at the congressional phones, and the local district phones. This job-killing, high-taxing bill has to be defeated and those who vote in favor have to be told to enjoy their final term in Congress.

Cap & Trade (Read Cap & Tax) must go down. It is another marxist construct aimed squarely at the free market. Email, fax, call your represenntatives TODAY & demand they vote against this very bad legislation. Gotta go 2 for 2 on this & socialized health care.

OK what is the actual number for cap and trade? I am starting to get confused. I just called my rep with a no vote on waxman markey, is that what is considered cap and trade? BTW, I got right throug.

My Congressman, Lynn Westmoreland (R-Georgia), will be voting NO.

Just confirmed by a staffer in his DC Office.

Last night our Congress Critter’s phone lines were overloaded. This morning, was able to leave a message at the local office. Still can’t get an answer at the D.C. number. Constantly rings busy.

I called mine Thursday.

His staffer said he’s voting “NO.”

I said “Are you positive that Pelosi isn’t going to buy him off, since that’s what she’s up to?”

Staffer said no way.

I’ll be checking tomorrow. Be firm, be polite, but be resolute.

And CALL those turkeys!

If they don’t have the votes, they will pull the bill and try again at a later date. If they don’t pull it, that means they have the votes.

Better doublecheck today.

The vote is today.

Tomorrow will be a day late and a dollar short.

Just called Congressman Melancon (LA) creepy guy who is considering a run against Senator Vitter...I urged him to vote no on 2454, of course all I spoke to was his aide. The aide did tell me he had voted no in committee but is now trying to see how the constituents feel before deciding. I told him how this constituent feels!

I just called my congress critter Mark Kirk was told he is still reviewing the 1200 pages and has not said how he will vote. Told switchboard that as a constituent that i would like to see him vote no.

She took my e mail and said it would be passed along.

Just spoke with Shuler’s office (NC Blue Dog). The intern who answered says he’s still undecided. I told her I would work very hard to defeat him if he votes yes.

BTW, my call went right through.

John Larson-CT is voting yes

I hate this state.

I couldn’t get through to his D.C. office, so I contacted his Hartford office.
