President Obama acknowledged Thursday that a climate change bill strongly backed by the White House will face an extremely close vote in the House of Representatives as early as the end of the week.
Obama made an urgent plea for congressional approval in what could be an early make-or-break test for his young administration.
"Now is the time for us to lead," Obama said in the White House Rose Garden. "We cannot be afraid of the future. We cannot be prisoners to the past."

Imagine you're a dim congress-person from Ohio, WV, AL or TX...or a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (the most REGRESSIVE tax in US History)and 'ol bambi and Pelosi are forcing you to actually VOTE for this monstrosity tomorrow.
It's one thing to get along with your caucus and talk the talk about Cap and Tax, it's a whole 'nuther program to actually vote to increase the cost utility bills, the price of gas/diesel and every single thing Americans purchase.
IF the GOP can hold the line and deny these CBC and rural/"conservative" dims cover, this bill will fail by 30 votes, EASY.

Too low. Obama promised to make alternative energy “profitable,” and that will take 400%+ increases...

OPM, Other Peoples Money. That is what's driving this insanity. There's two classes driving this so-called debate but in this case they ultimately end up on the same side, the ones that want to punish those that have and the ones that have but don't think the consequences will effect them. Conservative are out of the debate and the two sides controlling the issue are idiots.

I called over 16 yesterday.. the switchboard is jammed tonite. p.s. call Rep. Mike McIntyre (NC) 202-225-1640. What a jerk. I’m going to fight to get him beat the next election.
Another thought....who in Congress will benefit from cap and trade? I know Al Gore will. His 100 million pocketbook will increase to 1 billion. Who else is in on the potential cash?
