Farrah Fawcett, who skyrocketed to fame as one of a trio of impossibly glamorous private eyes on TV's Charlie's Angels, has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.
Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST at St. Johns Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She had recently returned to St. John's for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago. Her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal was at her side throughout her final days.
Like so much about Fawcett's life including her bumpy relationship with O'Neal her heroic struggle to beat the disease was closely followed by her legion of fans.

How did you know?
Rest in peace, dear Farah.
I do understand. However, would you should up at someones calling hours and make negative remarks?
I realize that this thread was not calling hours, but it was a homage to her life.
None of us are perfect, actually far from it.
I thought it was a left field remark and commented on it.
I didn’t think it was that big of a deal to post that but some seems to thinks I was wrong.
Whatever.
Have you seen today's vile Michael Jackson thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2279499/posts?q=1&;page=1#1)? It does not support your viewpoint.
FReepmail for you.
Wow!!!
Thanks, Albion ...I’m feeling so selfish in MY loss ... but after a long struggle, my friend is at peace. Actually she survived a year longer than docs had told her, and I’m sure it was because of her great, positive attitude ... less than a week in hospice and she went quietly, with her daughter at her side. And, oh, what a life she did live ... no regrets.
Those fall in the category of environmental pollutants that can contribute to weakening a susceptible individual's immune system in such a way that a cancer can develop, but the other factors would have to be there, such as a genetic predisposition and possibly a triggering virus. Otherwise, 100% of people exposed for a long time to cigarettes or asbestos would get cancer. And we all know some old grandpas (mine died at 80 after smoking unfiltered roll-your-owns from the age of 7) who did not die of the same pollutant.
Walter Cronkite.
Peace.
She was a lovely lady and seemed very sweet. May she rest in peace and may God comfort her loved ones.
No harm, no foul.

FReepmail for you...
Called it - 2 hours in advance of fatal heart attack.
Can I get your phone number? I want to chat with you about a lottery.
Same here.
What a call!
Did you predict that The USA will beat Spain, The Giants beat the Patriots, Applichain State beat Michigan, and The Red Sox come back from being down 3-0 to the Yankess and come back to win the series. And do you think the Cubs will win the world series this year?
That's spooky dude. When am I going to cash in?
(No, don't tell me, I want it to be a surprise)
