Obama, the African Colonial

Had Americans been able to stop obsessing over the color of Barack Obama's skin and instead paid more attention to his cultural identity, maybe he would not be in the White House today. The key to understanding him lies with his identification with his father, and his adoption of a cultural and political mindset rooted in postcolonial Africa.

Like many educated intellectuals in postcolonial Africa, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was enraged at the transformation of his native land by its colonial conqueror. But instead of embracing the traditional values of his own tribal cultural past, he embraced an imported Western ideology, Marxism. I call such frustrated and angry modern Africans who embrace various foreign "isms", instead of looking homeward for repair of societies that are broken, African Colonials. They are Africans who serve foreign ideas.

The tropes of America's racial history as a way of understanding all things black are useless in understanding the man who got his dreams from his father, a Kenyan exemplar of the African Colonial.

Before I continue, I need to say this: I am a first generation born West African-American woman whose parents emigrated to the U.S. in the 1970's from the country now called Nigeria. I travel to Nigeria frequently. I see myself as both a proud American and as a proud Igbo (the tribe that we come from -- also sometimes spelled Ibo). Politically, I have always been conservative (though it took this past election for me to commit to this once and for all!); my conservative values come from my Igbo heritage and my place of birth. Of course, none of this qualifies me to say what I am about to -- but at the same time it does.

My friends, despite what CNN and the rest are telling you, Barack Obama is nothing more than an old school African Colonial who is on his way to turning this country into one of the developing nations that you learn about on the National Geographic Channel. Many conservative (East, West, South, North) African-Americans like myself -- those of us who know our history -- have seen this movie before. Here are two main reasons why many Americans allowed Obama to slip through the cracks despite all of his glaring inconsistencies:

First, Obama has been living on American soil for most of his adult life. Therefore, he has been able to masquerade as one who understands and believes in American democratic ideals. But he does not. Barack Obama is intrinsically undemocratic and as his presidency plays out, this will become more obvious. Second, and most importantly, too many Americans know very little about Africa. The one-size-fits-all understanding that many Americans (both black and white) continue to have of Africa might end up bringing dire consequences for this country.

Contrary to the way it continues to be portrayed in mainstream Western culture, Africa is not a continent that can be solely defined by AIDS, ethnic rivalries, poverty and safaris. Africa, like any other continent, has an immense history defined by much diversity and complexity. Africa's long-standing relationship with Europe speaks especially to some of these complexities -- particularly the relationship that has existed between the two continents over the past two centuries. Europe's complete colonization of Africa during the nineteenth century, also known as the Scramble for Africa, produced many unfortunate consequences, the African colonial being one of them.

The African colonial (AC) is a person who by means of their birth or lineage has a direct connection with Africa. However, unlike Africans like me, their worldviews have been largely shaped not by the indigenous beliefs of a specific African tribe but by the ideals of the European imperialism that overwhelmed and dominated Africa during the colonial period. AC's have no real regard for their specific African traditions or histories.  AC's use aspects of their African culture as one would use pieces of costume jewelry: things of little or no value that can be thoughtlessly discarded when they become a negative distraction, or used on a whim to decorate oneself in order to seem exotic. (Hint: Obama's Muslim heritage).

On the other hand, AC's strive to be the best at the culture that they inherited from Europe. Throughout the West, they are tops in their professions as lawyers, doctors, engineers, Ivy League professors and business moguls; this is all well and good. It's when they decide to engage us as politicians that things become messy and convoluted.

The African colonial politician (ACP) feigns repulsion towards the hegemonic paradigms of Western civilization. But at the same time, he is completely enamored of the trappings of its aristocracy or elite culture. The ACP blames and caricatures whitey to no end for all that has gone wrong in the world. He convinces the masses that various forms of African socialism are the best way for redressing the problems that European colonialism motivated in Africa. However, as opposed to really being a hard-core African Leftist who actually believes in something, the ACP uses socialist themes as a way to disguise his true ambitions: a complete power grab whereby the "will of the people" becomes completely irrelevant.

Barack Obama is all of the above. The only difference is that he is here playing (colonial) African politics as usual.  

In his 1995 memoir, Dreams From My Father -- an eloquent piece of political propaganda -- Obama styles himself as a misunderstood intellectual who is deeply affected by the sufferings of black people, especially in America and Africa. In the book, Obama clearly sees himself as an African, not as a black American. And to prove this, he goes on a quest to understand his Kenyan roots. He is extremely thoughtful of his deceased father's legacy; this provides the main clue for understanding Barack Obama.

Barack Obama Sr. was an African colonial to the core; in his case, the apple did not fall far from the tree. All of the telltale signs of Obama's African colonialist attitudes are on full display in the book -- from his feigned antipathy towards Europeans to his view of African tribal associations as distracting elements that get in the way of "progress".  (On p. 308 of Dreams From My Father, Obama says that African tribes should be viewed as an "ancient loyalties".)

Like imperialists of Old World Europe, the ACP sees their constituents not as free thinking individuals who best know how to go about achieving and creating their own means for success. Instead, the ACP sees his constituents as a flock of ignorant sheep that need to be led -- oftentimes to their own slaughter.

Like the European imperialist who spawned him, the ACP is a destroyer of all forms of democracy.

Here are a few examples of what the British did in order to create (in 1914) what is now called Nigeria and what Obama is doing to you: 

1. Convince the people that "clinging" to any aspect of their cultural (tribal) identity or history is bad and regresses the process of "unity". British Imperialists deeply feared people who were loyal to anything other than the state. "Tribalism" made the imperialists have to work harder to get people to just fall in line. Imperialists pitted tribes against each other in order to create chaos that they then blamed on ethnic rivalry. Today many "educated" Nigerians, having believed that their traditions were irrelevant, remain completely ignorant of their ancestry and the history of their own tribes.
2. Confiscate the wealth and resources of the area that you govern by any means necessary in order to redistribute wealth. The British used this tactic to present themselves as empathetic and benevolent leaders who wanted everyone to have a "fair shake". Imperialists are not interested in equality for all. They are interested in controlling all.  
3. Convince the masses that your upper-crust university education naturally puts you on an intellectual plane from which to understand everything even when you understand nothing. Imperialists were able to convince the people that their elite university educations allowed them to understand what Africa needed. Many of today's Nigerians-having followed that lead-hold all sorts of degrees and certificates-but what good are they if you can't find a job?   
4. Lie to the people and tell them that progress is being made even though things are clearly becoming worse.  One thing that the British forgot to mention to their Nigerian constituents was that one day, the resources that were being used to engineer "progress" (which the British had confiscated from the Africans to begin with!) would eventually run out. After WWII, Western Europe could no longer afford to hold on to their African colonies. So all of the counterfeit countries that the Europeans created were then left high-and-dry to fend for themselves. This was the main reason behind the African independence movements of the1950 and 60's. What will a post-Obama America look like?
5. Use every available media outlet to perpetuate the belief that you and your followers are the enlightened ones-and that those who refuse to support you are just barbaric, uncivilized, ignorant curmudgeons.  This speaks for itself.

America, don't be fooled. The Igbos were once made up of a confederacy of clans that ascribed to various forms of democratic government. They took their eyes off the ball and before they knew it, the British were upon them. Also, understand this: the African colonial who is given too much political power can only become one thing: a despot.

It may be a mistake to assume the Dunham move to Hawaii coincided with Stanley Ann's graduation. There are various websites that propose Stanley Armour Dunham moved to Hawaii in 1959. Maya made this statement:

Toutonghi used to baby-sit President Obama when she was neighbors with his mother.

Toutonghi was living in Seattle at the time, in the early 1960s. Her husband was going to school at Seattle University, and she was a stay-at-home mom with their 18-month-old daughter.

They lived in a three-story house that had been converted into three inexpensive apartments. Toutonghi and her family lived in the basement apartment, and Ann Dunham — Obama’s mother — lived in the apartment directly upstairs.

MR. LOUDON: Frank Marshall Davis was a prominent Chicago journalist and poet in 1940s Chicago. He was member of the Dorie Miller Club of the Communist Party, but never publicly admitted membership.

Davis left Chicago for Hawaii in 1948, where he worked on the Honolulu Record, a paper controlled by the communist ‘owned’ International Longshoremen’s Worker Union.

Davis was an active, but still covert Party member in Hawaii and went underground with the Party in the mid 50s-after a Senate Inquiry into communist activities on the islands. Davis was one third of a three member underground cell with his wife Helen Canfield and one other comrade.

At one point the FBI observed Davis photographing obscure Hawaii beaches, leading to speculation that he may have been involved in intelligence gathering.

Davis was marked by the FBI for immediate arrest in the event of war with the Soviet Union.

Like many of his comrades Davis was an official in the Hawaii Democratic Party.

In 1970 Davis was introduced to a 10 year old Barack Obama, by Obama’s grandfather-who was Davis’ friend and drinking buddy.

The Davis/Obama relationship endured until 1978 when Obama left for college in Los Angeles.

Frank Marshall Davis was listed as an endorser of the well documented Communist Party front-Committee for Protection of Foreign Born until at least 1974.

Davis died in 1987.

MR. CHARLTON: Why did Davis go to Hawaii?

MR. LOUDON: It was reportedly at the suggestion of both the singer/activist Paul Robeson and ILWU boss Harry Bridges-both covert party members.

MR. CHARLTON: What were the goals of the American Communist Party?

MR. LOUDON: A socialist/communist America — (and they) still are.

From early on the US communists put great emphasis on infiltrating the labor unions, the Democratic Party, the US government and the “civil rights” movement.

While hugely reduced in size the US communists and their allies in Democratic Socialists of America, Committees of Correspondence and the wider “progressive” movement have huge influence on the more than 70 strong Congressional Progressive Caucus, the AFL-CIO and several large black and Latino organizations.

These are being used to break down and alter the character of US society.

MR. CHARLTON: Who were the early leaders of this party in the U.S.A. in the inter war years (1918-1939)?

LOUDON: In post-World-War-II Chicago you had prominent leaders like William Patterson and his wife Louise, later it was Jack Kling, the Childs brothers (both later revealed to be FBI agents) Claude Lightfoot, Ishmael Flory, Milton Cohen, Abe Feinglass, Richard Criley, Frank Wilkinson, Frank and Bea Lumpkin and Ted Pearson-today its John Bachtell, Scott Marshall and his wife Roberta Wood.

MR. CHARLTON: Who were the prominent African Americans in the Chicago network?

MR. LOUDON: In the 40s they included William and Louise Patterson, Ishmael Flory, Claude Lightfoot, Frank Marshall Davis and Oscar Brown. Vernon Jarrett (father-in-law of Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett) and future Chicago mayor Harold Washington were close to the network as was future Obama friend Timuel Black and close Obama associates: former Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer and one term Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun.

MR. CHARLTON: Can you tell me something about the Jarrett family?

MR. LOUDON: Vernon Jarrett was a prominent Chicago journalist who used his columns to promote Barack Obama during his 2004 Senate run (Jarrett died soon after).

In the later 40s Jarrett worked in at least three communist influenced or controlled organizations in common with Frank Marshall Davis — the two worked together on the publicity committee of a communist controlled Packing House Workers strike support committee in 1948..

After that Vernon Jarrett ran a black oriented radio program in partnership with Communist Party member Oscar Brown-later a famous jazz musician.

The Jarretts were family friends with the Bowman family and Valerie Bowman became Valerie Jarrett through a five year marriage to Vernon Jarrett’s now deceased son.

Valerie’s mother Barbara Taylor Bowman runs the Erikson Institute in Chicago. Tom Ayers, father of Weather Underground terrorist leader and Obama associate Bill Ayers served on the Erikson board as did Bill Ayers’ wife Bernardine Dohrn. Bill Ayers claims to be a friend and Hyde park neighbor of Barbara Bowman, who incidentally is an adviser on early childhood education to the Secretary of Education.

Valerie Jarrett hired Michelle Obama for a Chicago City job in the 90s and became a close friend and advisor to both Michelle and Barack, leading to her current job in the White House.

MR. CHARLTON: Did the Chicago Network invite Barack Obama to Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: Obama claims that he was inspired to leave New York for Chicago in 1983 after the election of the city’s first black mayor Harold Washington-who was involved in Party fronts well into the 1980s.

It is important to note that Obama attended “socialist conferences” at the Cooper union while in New York.

Cooper Union was the usual venue of the annual Socialist Scholars Conference which was organized by Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) — the US’s largest socialist/Marxist grouping.

Chicago DSA allied with the Chicago CP to elect Harold Washington and Carol Moseley Braun.

DSA endorsed Obama in his 1995 Illinois State senate run.

Obama joined the Chicago New Party at that time. The New Party was a coalition of ACORN, DSA, Committees of Correspondence and SEIU activists

Obama worked closely with several DSA members in Chicago, a well as with come cadre from Committees of Correspondence — a Communist Party splinter group.

Several of Obama’s close friends, neighbors and colleagues were involved with DSA including Saul Mendelson, Quentin Young, Timuel Black, Rabbi Arnold Wolf, Jackie Grimshaw, Leon Despres and Congressmen Danny Davis and Jan Schakowsky.

Of those Mendelson was an ex Trotskyite, Young is an ex Communist, Despres was an ex Socialist Party member and Trotskyite, Black is also a member of CoC and Davis has ties to both the Communist Party and CoC.

MR. CHARLTON: What history is there between Obama and the Communist Party since his arrival in Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: Obama’s main documented links to the Chicago left were through DSA, Committees of Correspondence and the New Party.

Prominent CoC leader Manning Marable wrote in Britain’s Socialist Review of November 2008:

What makes Obama different is that he has also been a community organizer. He has read left literature, including my works, and he understands what socialism is. A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists. There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years…

That said, both the Chicago Communist Party and Young Communist League campaigned for Obama in his 2004 Senate race and both organizations overtly campaigned for Obama in 2008.

Communist Party leader Sam Webb recently described Obama as a ‘friend.”

MR. CHARLTON: What does Obama mean by “Change we can believe in“? Who is this “we”, and what is this “change”?

MR. LOUDON: We is the broad ‘progressive movement” which includes the Communist Party, Democratic Socialists of America, Committees of Correspondence, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, ACORN, AFL-CIO, Change to Win, Demos, Institute for Policy Studies, Center for American Progress, Campaign for America’s Future, George Soros’s Open Society institute, United for Peace and Justice, Jobs with Justice, Economic Policy Institute, US Action, Apollo Alliance, the more than 70 strong Congressional Progressive Caucus, Progressive democrats of America, the wider Democratic Party…..etc, etc and their allies in the MSM, academia and government.

The change is towards a unionized, centralized, oligarchic “progressive” society where the values of the left reign supreme and traditional American values are demonized and all opposition is marginalized-by whatever means necessary.

MR. CHARLTON: Was Obama ever a Communist Party Candidate? A Socialist Party candidate?

MR. LOUDON: I doubt he was ever that silly. The New Party which Obama did join was established by DSA, CoC, ACORN, SEIU and the far left Institute for Policy Studies, but it was leftist, rather than openly Marxist.

CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS ON MICHELLE OBAMA, STOKELY CARMICHAEL & THAT THESIS.LINK

..."I direct your attention to Mrs. Obama’s 1985 thesis at Princeton University. Its title (rather limited in scope, given the author and the campus) is “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community.” To describe it as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be “read” at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn’t written in any known language.

Anyway, at quite an early stage in the text, Michelle Obama announces that she’s much influenced by the definition of black “separationism” offered by Stokely Carmichael and Charles Hamilton in their 1967 screed Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America.

I remember poor Stokely Carmichael quite well. After a hideous series of political and personal fiascos, he fled to Africa, renamed himself Kwame Toure after two of West Africa’s most repellently failed dictators, and then came briefly back to the United States before electing to die in exile.

I last saw him as the warm-up speaker for Louis Farrakhan in Madison Square Garden in 1985, on the evening when Farrakhan made himself famous by warning Jews, “You can’t say ‘Never Again’ to God, because when he puts you in the ovens, you’re there forever.”

I have the distinct feeling that the Obama campaign can’t go on much longer without an answer to the question: “Are we getting two for one?” And don’t be giving me any grief about asking this. Black Americans used to think that the Clinton twosome was their best friend, too. This time we should find out before it’s too late to ask.

Marilyn Katz is not merely a friend of Jarrett’s but also both Obamas. The president met Katz through his first job at a law firm run by Judd Miner. The New York Times reports Katz “gave him entry into another activist network: the foot soldiers of the white student and black power movements that helped define Chicago in the 1960s.”

Susan Sher, who helped Jarrett recruit Michelle Obama to the Chicago mayor’s office before Michelle married the president, said, “I don’t think either of them [the Obamas] made major decisions without talking to her,” adding that Jarrett failed to appreciate “how incredibly instrumental she’ll be in virtually everything” in the White House.

In late July, Katz joined Jarrett and Sher in Washington at the Obama administration’s celebration of the 37th anniversary of Title IX. Katz, the unrepentant ‘60s nail-tosser, now has a well-placed patron and a history as part of the first family’s inner circle. All three are indebted to her, literally or figuratively, and she enjoys their affections. Though she is the most disturbing to come to light, she is hardly Jarrett’s only extremist influence.

Who was America’s first Muslim?

INTRODUCING TIMOTHY DREW

Islam did not arrive in the New World with a boatload of black slaves or Muslim missionaries. It did not emerge from the cotton fields or the halls of ivy. Islam made its first appearance in the form of Timothy Drew, an African American conman and two-bit snake oil salesman, who popped up on a street corner in Newark, New Jersey circa 1910 as the “Savior Prophet of Allah.‚”

Timothy Drew is not a subject of black history month. He has not been the subject of a PBS documentary nor a critical biography. Most history professors, even at prestigious black universities, know little about him. But few African American leaders have cast a larger shadow. Without Drew, there would be no black leaders such as Elijah Mohammed, Malcolm X, Mukasa Dada, Stokely Carmichael, H. Rap Brown, or Louis Farrakhan; no organizations such as the Black Power Movement, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the Death Angels, or the New Black Panthers; no rap and hip-hop artists such as Public Enemy, Ice Cube, KRS-One, X-Clan, or Lauryn Hill; and no Barack Hussein Obama.

By 1913, Timothy Drew, now known as Noble Drew Ali, managed to convince hundreds of Newark Negroes that they were not the descendants of African slaves, but the sons and daughters of Berber Moors, the very Moors who had introduced slavery to the Ivory Coast. In 1913, he opened what is reportedly the first mosque in America - - the Holy Moabite Temple of the Science of the World, also known as the Canaanite Temple. “The Moors were living up and down the Mississippi River before the European man came to them,‚” Drew told his flock. “The bananas were large and the grapes were four-in-hand. It took two men with hand sticks to carry a bunch of grapes.‚”1

No one within the Moorish Science Movement came to realize that the Prophet Muhammad viewed the black race with contempt and referred to Negroes as “raisin heads‚” several times in the Hadith (I:662; 9:256).2

GIRDLES AND SNAKE OIL

The male members of the temple were required to wear an official red fez (available for $3.00), a girdle (priced at $5.00) and a robe (at the cost of $5.00).3 Women were obliged to cover their hair at all public gatherings and to augment their headpieces with a blue and oval Moorish pin (sold for $3.00). All members were encouraged to add “Bey‚” or “El‚” to their names in order to signify their Moorish descent on their membership cards (renewable yearly for $1.00).

The reception of such membership cards, Drew told his flock, represented relinquishment of their U. S. citizenship. “By being born here doesn’t make you a citizen,‚” Drew told his disciples. This claim resulted in the refusal of many temple members to comply with the Selective Service Act of 1917.

The new American Muslims were obliged to attend Friday worship services and to make payment of the monthly dues of $2.00 for men and $1 for women. They were encouraged to purchase Noble Drew’s magical elixirs - - Old Moorish Healing Oil, Moorish Blood Purifier Bath Compound, and Moorish Herbal Tea for Human Ailments for a nominal fee.4 “My remedies,‚” Drew proclaimed, “will cure you of anything you weren’t born with.‚”5

THE NEW MECCA

The Newark temple became so successful that the Prophet opened branch temples in Harlem, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Toledo, Flint, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Norfolk, and Louisville, Kentucky.6 In 1925, Drew relocated to Chicago, where he established the central shrine of the movement on Indiana Avenue. “Chicago, Illinois is going to be our new Mecca,‚” he said.7

By 1926, when the Moorish Science Temple became a legal corporation, the movement had garnered more than 32,000 adherents. Within the next three years, a host of other temples - - 36 in all - - were established throughout the country. The temples were governed by Grand Sheikhs and “Grand Sheikhesses‚” [sic] who had been appointed by Noble Drew. One such “Grand Sheikhess‚” turned out to be Pearl Jones Ali, the aunt of one of the Noble Drew’s wives.8

By 1929, the Chicago branch of the Moorish Science Temple boasted 12,000 members; the Detroit branch 10,000. The movement operated grocery stores, clothing shops, and The Moorish Voice, a national newspaper.

A Muslim from the Middle East, who happened to stumble into one of Drew’s Moorish Temples on a Friday night, would have thought that all Bedlam or Parnassus had been let out. The temple members with their red fezzes, yellow pantaloons, and curled slippers, knew nothing of the five pillars of Islam. They prayed standing upright with two fingers lifted on one hand and five on the other. They were ignorant of the exordium and even the basmalah. They claimed that the Prophet Muhammad was a black man, even though various hadiths spoke of the whiteness of the Prophet’s skin. They fancied that the holy city of Islam was Morocco, not Mecca. They upheld shocking shirks, such as their insistence that Noble Drew was the divinely ordained prophet of Allah - - a heresy in Islam which taught that the age of the prophets had ended with the death of Muhammad. And they presented themselves as “angelic gods,‚” even though the words of the shahadah - - Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Llah (“I testify that there is no God but Allah‚”) - - represented the basis of Muslim belief.

FAME, FORTUNE, AND POLYGAMY

Such matters appeared to be of little concern to Drew and his followers in October 1928, when the first national convention of the Moorish Science Temple took place in Chicago. By this time, Drew’s movement boasted more than 100,000 followers, and his annual salary was listed at $36,000, a fortune at the time.9 The Prophet received additional stipends for his living expenses, including the mortgage payment for his luxurious trappings on Chicago’s south side, and the salaries for his chauffeur, maid, butler and other domestic attendants. He kept several wives, a host of concubines, and fathered, at least, twenty children.10 When he tired of one wife, he would quietly “divorce‚” her and “marry another.‚” He also kept four women at the same time and paid for each to live in separate homes

MURDER AND MADNESS

On March 12, 1929, Claude Greene Bey, Drew’s personal chauffeur, staged a coup by pronouncing himself the Grand Sheikh, stripping Drew’s headquarters of all files and furniture, and setting up a rival temple at the Unity House on the north side of Chicago, where he began to call for assassination of all whites and all Moors who objected to his leadership. Drew imported some thugs, including Ira Johnson Bey, from Pittsburgh to quell the rebellion. Three days later, Greene was shot and stabbed to death in the alleyway behind Unity House.11

Drew, while hosting a party to celebrate Greene’s demise, was arrested as an accessory to homicide. Released on bail, Drew hastily promoted David Ford-el, a.k.a. Master Fard Muhammad, as the acting head of the movement on July 20, 1929. It was not a prudent move. Fard was a criminal with 58 aliases. He had served three years in San Quentin before gaining release on May 27, 1929.12 He purchased a one-way ticket to Chicago, where he joined the Moorish Science Temple.

One month later, Noble Drew Ali was found dead at his home. The cause of his death has never been determined. Several of his followers speculated that he died as a result of injuries sustained in beatings from the police; others insisted that he had been murdered by his rivals. An autopsy was never conducted and a full-scale police investigation never conducted.

The future of Islam in America came to rest with Fard Muhammad, the acting Grand Sheikh, who had packed up his bags and headed off for Detroit to form the Nation of Islam - - a movement that gave rise to Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, and Muhammad Ali.

DREW’S LEGACY

Timothy Drew - - an uneducated and unscrupulous con artist - - convinced the black community in America that Islam is their native religion and that Christianity represents the oppressive religion of the white man. At present, Islam is the fastest growing religion in America, and 90% of the converts are African Americans. 60% of these African Americans are converted to Islam in prison. Many of the temples that Drew established are now Wahhabist mosques that serve to flame the fire of jihad and to incite anti-American sentiment among the poor and disenfranchised residents of the nation’s inner-cities.

I saw that surprising discussion on another thread. Didn’t know what to make of it. Aren’t the dates confusing? Didn’t someone say the movie opened up in Chicago in 1959?

Stanley Dunham in Hawaii in 1959; Stanley Ann graduates from high school in 1960. That year (1960) Mother joins husband Stanley in Hawaii.

So we are to presume that after Stanley Ann graduated from high school in Washington, mother left for Hawaii to join husband Stanley, and Stanley Ann, having been accepted at U of C, migrated to Chicago to take a position as an au pair.

Parents allow this, even though Stanley had not ok’d the U of C. Seems to me that Stanley Ann’s employers would have to have been well known to her parents.

She works there for the summer and receives news from father that he will not allow her to go to U of C. She then joins parents in Hawaii. She was registered to go to U of Hawaii that year (1960) -— and is pregnant by November.

Even if movie showing in 1959 is a mistake (could it have run in Chicago theater for 6 mos to 1 yr?), the timing is very compressed.

Am I missing something?

The question is what ( or who) got into her? Did she stay their until Christmas? I do not believe that Obama Jr. is the son of Barak Senior, which is the major reason he obscures his documentation of birth.And he uses that fact to get the cooperation of authorities in Hawaii and elsewhere.Barak Sr. just may have wanted an anchor baby, in the beginning and changed his mind later.

I still think that Barak Jr is too light of skin to be the son of Barak Sr.

I belive we will see the facts sooner or later, perhaps we should start a betting pool on the outcome?

Her Uncle, Madelyn’s brother, Charles T Payne was Deputy Director of the Library of the University of Chicago from 1960. He lived in Hyde Park. He was still there when Obama taught Law at the U of Ch.

I had mentioned the movie on the other thread.

“Black Orpheus” opened 12/1959.

I just checked the Chicago Tribune archives and while I don’t pay for articles, a search for “Black Orpheus” for the summer months of 1960, does come up with hits.

I think movies certainly did hang around in theaters for a much longer run time back then.
