you know, i am not governor of a state but i sure as hell would be held to account if i up and left my job for a week in Argentina without notice. and i have to disagree with you, Ensign most assuredly did demonstrate clay feet with the affair with a staffer, and i don’t care WHO was blackmailing him or threatening to, he put himself in the position.

Why are conservatives so quick to believe media spin about one of the few true threats to the left’s agenda. Better cross Sarah Palin off the “list” too. I hear she has ethics problems.
This is why Repubublican’s lose. They hear ONE story where they don’t know all the facts or ONE policy position they don’t like an want to “stay home”.

That could very well be...however...Sanford should have been smart enough to see that coming. You never trust anyone in politics - PERIOD.
He could have easily avoided this fiasco by making a public statement ahead of this - basically...hey this has been a long and arduous fight but the spend thrifts in this state want to further erode our ability to compete - I really need a break to think about the direction of our state and where do we go from here...see you in a week....yada ya ya...
Our Oklahoma RAT Governor has been known to disappear and not tell then Lt Gov Fallin. Personally he could have disappeared for the year and I would have been happy.
Maybe the revolution is getting ready to start and he was on a secret planning mission. Come on guys, he simply did what we all wish we could do at one time or another. The state was in good hands. I felt safe. You know his wife knew where he was at. She was just protecting him, as a good wife will. To maintain your sanity you have to take a break. If we all did this we would be much better off. A truly good leader has an organization that works just as well whether he is their or not. I live in South Carolina, I noticed no change in services while he was gone. Looks like he had everything under control
well pardon my skepticism on Sanford. i will wait to see if he really is what you claim him to be. so far i am not impressed. and like i said, i am a well-educated, well-informed conservative, pre-disposed towards conservative candidates. but i live in NoVA and work in DC and have for 30+ years and i have been disappointed in many many candidates. i haven’t written him off bc of this silly stunt, but he will have to overcome my skepticism at this point.
Every Republican is defective as far as the MSM is concerned. The good ones get flushed out for not so good reasons this way. A suggestion of a problem is not a good reason to dump an otherwise good candidate. I am saying this and I have never even heard of Sanford before.

He’s entitled to the benefit of the facts. And the facts, thus far, don’t shine a good light on him. I hope that changes. You can deny facts as media spin all you want and harangue people about it. But the truth still lies there.
I agree with you 100% — don’t understand the focus on the media when they were given different stories. The media came after our RAT Governor for not telling the Lt Governor several years ago that he was going to be gone out of State.
Sanford is high profile because of his actions and the media would be even more likely to go after him. Someone just posted he does this from time to time. That is not very smart. If he wants to wander around without security, then he shouldn’t be Governor.
