It sounds like your bubbie's egg noodle casserole, but Koogle - a clever combination of Google and kugel - could play a large part in integrating Orthodox Jews into cyberspace.
And it could provide a model of how religious groups from all backgrounds, and secular people looking for a cleaner version of the Internet, could one day view web sites without worrying about R-rated, or even PG-13 material.
Koogle, (koogle.co.il) the brainchild of Israeli Yossi Altman, aims to give religious Jews a chance to surf the Internet.
Altman estimates that about 10-to-15 percent of Israelis are strictly observant Jews who, until now, have stayed away from the Internet because of pop-up ads and web site products showing immodest images like scantily dressed women.
Orthodox rabbis urge Jews to only use the Internet for business purposes and in open areas.
With Koogle, Altman is paid by companies across Israel to provide an alternate, cleaner version of their site that shows up when users browse the Internet with Koogle.

No scantily clad women or bacon and cheese sandwiches either.

“Koogle search engine aims to make Internet kosher
No scantily clad women or bacon and cheese sandwiches either.”
Hmmm...argument for or against????
I really don’t understand this problem. Seems to me it would be a little bit like walking through a red light district and complaining about the smut. How did you get there in the first place?
A kosher search engine? Kind of like Hebrew National hot dogs, no if, ands or butts about it...
I think it’s a great idea. There is already ‘JewTube’. (Yes, there really is.)
This is funny...what a business idea. cleaning up websites....
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
