On Monday night's "Late Show" host David Letterman re-addressed his comments about Gov. Sarah Palin and her teenage daughter. Letterman made a more serious apology than his response last week. "I had, honestly, no idea that the 14-year-old girl, I had no idea that anybody was at the ball game except the governor, and I was told at the time she was there with Rudy Giuliani," Letterman said.

Start with the court jester. If you go up the chain from least to highest, you will find that when you “get” the top guy there will be no successors to carry on his policies.
Don’t forget to write all of his IndyCar sponsors. Remember, Letterman owns an IndyCar team. I’m sure his sponsors there will be thrilled to hear about their car’s owner’s antics.

Sounds like he is still making excuses to me.
I think it was to take a mean-spirited swipe at Sarah Palin thru her daughter—& yeah, I think he meant the 14-year old.

When guys talk about “intent”, they’re usually preparing a criminal defense.
That’s the one part of the apology that doesn’t wash. He asked to make sure Bristol was of age???? Uh-huh, sure you did.
WOW! Why do you think that sex with a woman over the age of 18 without her permission is in any way acceptable? How is that not included in the definition of rape? And what rock did you climb out from under?
the last thing Obama needs is a liberal who gets people so upset that a sponsor drops. He would like Rush to be the national bad guy.

he spent 90% of his statement still making up excuses for his sorry ass ,and 10% apologizing . And net very well at that .

than he was to the Palin family . He could not even bring himself to mention them by name .
The only real solution is he & Todd Palin , back-to-back,
.45 cal cap & ball , 20 paces turn and fire , at dawn.
I guess each of us have to ask if this acceptable or not.
I say no, and the apology is too muted and late.
I will not be supporting CBS or any advertiser until he is fired. The double standard of conservative woman/families vs liberal is clear.
This is war against the liberal establishment, even if you don’t fully agree with this David Letterman situation, I would hope you support the effort.
Unless someone said “Palin’s at the game with her daughter.” In which case, he wouldn’t have known which of her 3 daughters, which kinda makes it worse since you have to add Piper to the mix then. I don’t buy that he asked about Bristol’s age. That’s covering his butt. If that is the case, he should announce the firing of the staffer who told him it was Bristol and that she was of age. The joke was sexist trash with very possible pedophilia overtones. But, he has forever stained his career and will go down in dishonor when he retires (sooner rather than later I hope).
That's not an apology, that's an excuse! And it still says that it would be ok to advocate raping the governor if she was at this game herself.
Plus it's a bold faced LIE! He knew damn well she was with her 14 year old daughter.

Certainly, and I won’t be watching his show any more - not that I watched it much to begin with. Maybe once a year if I was up late, and then for about 15 minutes.
I rarely watch any network TV. They are all the same. And once the Letterman fiasco is over, they will pull something else. I watch a little Foxnews and get the rest from F.R. and other news sites.
