Please forgive me if I don’t make a personal reply to every post and Freepmail on this particular thread as it may become very busy....

I have a question/comment. In CA, and most of the country, the GOP seems to bend over backwards to find moderates. The result has been a loss of power in many traditional conservative areas.

Why not go wall-to-wall conservative in the upcoming elections in CA? There is truly nothing to lose, and much to gain. Get grassroot types that are not afraid of campaigning on the ground. It it is matter of educating people in CA about conservatism. Look what happened with Prop 8. The majority voted along conservative lines, and held the ground for family values. We can use this to springboard into power in CA, or anywhere.

What really are the best “foolproof ways” of making California’s economy healthy for the long-term?

Ron-
The unions seem to have a death grip on the legislature...This suggest we will be at an impasse forever. What can the grassroots do to nudge them off the tax and spend more mantra they espouse. (other than obvious letters to the editor)For example are their particular legislators on the other side of the isle that may support the GOP? Not a full fledged NY revolt, but more that they would vote with you on a tax issue.

Why should conservatives stay with the GOP, when it is clearly the Rino Party both nationally and in the majority of states?

Respectfully, I would prefer a better answer than: “it’s the only alternative.”

Thank you for sharing on FR.

I have a question. It seems to me that republicans do not clearly tell their voters why they voted a certain way. The left will pick on one thing and slam their opponents for it and the public never really hears the truth. **Ex. in VA rep voted against extending unemployment benefits, the dems are saying the reps do not care about the unemployed. The reps are not saying it was because of the added items in the bill (extra taxes to bus, giving part times unemployment (who never had it) and the ties on the stimulus. How can the republicans better inform the Calif. people so that the lefts lies do not stick in the minds of the voters.

Since you're the host, and you pinged me, here's my question:

At what point, if ever, do you believe the conservative Charlie Brown will finally realize that your party will NEVER let him kick the football, Lucy?

I ask this facetious question, my old friend, because I don't believe that this gentleman will give me straight answers, or even make himself available enough for me to ask him sufficient questions to get to the bottom of why I no longer trust, or care about the survival of, the formerly grand OLD party.

For the record, I'm a recovering Republican - one who spent the better part of two decades working for the success of the Republican Party at all levels, in all regions of the country - who is now the national chairman of America's Independent Party, whose California affiliate, the American Independent Party, is the third-largest party in the Golden State.

Here's my question: The GOP leadership, not only at the state level, but also at the National level, has a tin ear as to what the Conservative party base is demanding from the top. That the party leaders do not know or understand what we want is a non-starter of an answer, in light of Conservative sites such as Free Republic and Red State, where we discuss the issues 24/7 non-stop. What will it take to get through to the leadership that we want them to stand up for Conservative principles and fight the liberal agenda tooth-and-nail?

As a follow-up question, why can't the Republican Party get its act together and coordinate its online battlefront as the Democrats have with MoveOn.org, KOS, DU, and the Huffington Post?

Does the Republican party have the courage to stand up to the unions to argue for bankruptcy, not a bailout, which will allow California to start over with a clean slate?

Ron-do you and the other top dog GOPers in CA, when you are sitting around shooting the breeze, ever discuss Sarah Palin and what she means to so many?

Has there been ANY movement in CA to help support her should she decide to run in 2012?

Are the GOP brass wise enough to realize that the press barrage against Sarah is pointedly to destroy her before she ever decides to run because they are flat our panicked by her voice for conservative action and thought.

California seems intent on importing government dependent illegal immigrants. Should not this be a red flag for deportation?

Why is the GOP so intent on protecting illegal immigrants over the wishes of Americans?

Why is there no preference given to Americans when deciding where to cut costs?

Why are homemade food carts run by illegal aliens peddling food in front of our grade schools?

Why is there a taco truck parked on my street. I know a judge just gave them the right, FIX IT.

Why does the building department not check for licensed contractors and workers comp. on the job site?

Why do contractors have to show their license number on the truck signs but illegal aliens do not?

Why is it not anybody’s responsibility to inspect homes for unsafe and unlicensed remodeling while at the same time legal contractors have to almost have a masters degree to read the plans.

Why when taggers tag KB (Kill Blacks) is it not a hate crime.

BTW... We don't do much grunt work for the GOP but we write big checks when the candidate is a clone of Tom McClintock or
Ronald Reagan...

Dear Mr. Nehring,

I have been trying to interest the GOP in a way to beat the environmental left for ten years to no avail. I hold the first patent in free market environmental management, own the finest example of native plant habitat on the Central Coast, and have documented extensive corporate corruption behind environmental regulation.

Why does the GOP only listen to think tanks whose "experts" never do the work they espouse and never get out from behind their desks because they are too busy fund-raising?

Aren't you getting tired of getting creamed recycling the same old ideas along with pale-green enviro-light?

"If I understood correctly what he said, candidates are not assisted by party leadership until after they win a primary--Republican candidates must slug it out with their own local efforts and resources."

Yet look at whats happening in Florida with Crist. Supporting yet another RINO against a conservative BEFORE the primary.
