HOUSTON (Dow Jones)--TransCanada Corp. (TRP) said Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) to jointly develop a giant pipeline to bring arctic natural gas from Alaska to the lower 48 states.
The companies estimate the project to cost about $26 billion.
"TransCanada envisions that our combined activities with Exxon Mobil, along with the support of the state of Alaska, the U.S. and Canadian governments, and other interested parties will result in the timely completion of the project," TransCanada said. "Today's announcement is an important step toward that goal."

Historic Agreement Moves AGIA Forward Gov. (Palin) Applauds Private-Sector Alignment/a>
This is all possible because of the Governor of Alaska’s negotiating skills.
All MSM and David Letterman see is a woman they’d like to rape.
Great News....SW, any idea why Debi Schlussel is so anti-Palin. I was surprised to find that she thinks Palin is a non-Conservative.
So, about 6500 miles of new pipe in the ground.
Debi thinks Sarah should be at home iwth the kids.
I don’t know, I’m still trying to figure why Savage hates her...
That should have been “with the kids”.
Maybe so but Ms. Schussel seems to be a fighter against the Islam infiltrator....just curious.
Must be in the tank for some other pubbie.
‘bout time!
She said several times last year that Palin had no business being a governor and running a national campaign while having a young child with Down’s syndrome. She is definitely against Obama, but she thinks Palin should not be in politics at this time.
This is a MAJOR plus for Gov. Palin. Idiot Begich had just tried grandstanding over what he called a lack of progress on the pipeline project, and Sarah hits him with a cheat-seeking missile. LOL!
Also, she has been taking flak from the right in Alaska over the project, which they also said wasn’t going anywhere. Sarahcuda strikes again!
The Obama administration had no choice except to praise her for this accomplishment (see Salazar’s statement), yet she has been letting them have it with both barrels over the deficit, cuts in the missile defense program, socialism, Miranda rights for terrorists, etc.
EPIC WIN for Sarah Palin!

Palin seems to be the only big time politician that is doing something right about the energy policy for the US.
When the gas price goes back to $4 a gallon her far sighted work will pay dividends with the voters.
The GOP should be working as hard on the national scene..even if the Rats won’t pass the bill. They should be working on the blue dog Rats to help them.
That’s assuming they had a leader. Newt rolled over on this issue and signed on with the Globull Warming crowd.
Go Sarah!
How do you get that length...?

The Alaskan Natural Gas Pipeline is a proposal to transport natural gas from the Alaska North Slope natural gas reserves to the U.S. Midwest. There are two competing projects: one by BP and ConocoPhillips called "Denali", and another by TransCanada Corp.[1][2] TransCanada has secured state seed money and a license from the state of Alaska to build and operate a pipeline, but does not yet have federal approvals needed to start construction. Denali is spending its own money to move the project forward. Both entities have said they plan to hold their respective "open seasons" in 2010. On June 11, 2009 TransCanada announced it had formed an agreement with ExxonMobil to work together in bringing the gas to market.[3]
