Phoenix mayor Phil Gordon used the occasion of a fatal shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC – allegedly by a white supremacist – to accuse Sheriff Joe Arpaio of being sympathetic to Nazis and neo-Nazis. At a news conference called to discuss Phoenix's light rail system, Gordon led off expressing his sympathies to the family of the victim in the DC shooting. He then called white supremacists "despicable" and wondered aloud why community and law enforcement leaders across the Valley have repeatedly denounced white Supremacists, except for Arpaio.
According to Gordon, the sheriff has had numerous occasions to criticize neo-Nazis, but has instead said things like "I'm the sheriff of all the people. I'll defend anyone's rights." Gordon pointed to a Larry King interview with Arpaio where he quoted Arpaio as saying, "You know, they call you KKK. They did me. I think it's an honor, right? It means we must be doing something right."
Gordon called on Arpaio to, "for the first time," denounce neo-Nazis and their methods.

It's not like Joe has been attending a church (for 20 years) who's pastor blames the world's problems on "the Jew."

What is most interesting is that Arpaio is VERY sympathetic to the Mexican/Latino people. A few years ago he was interviewed by Terry Anderson and he was coming across being on the side of the illegal aliens. I was surprised when he came down on aliens, But first, he enforces the law. THAT is his job. The mayor better look at what the people think of Sheriff Joe instead of his own emotional hang ups.
LOL I left AZ in the early 70s, it wasn’t all that bad then, but now - holy moly!
My sister is a cop in AZ - and she thinks Sheriff Joe is Da Bomb (i.e. most excellent). I get the impression that in AZ, police chiefs and Mayors suffer from the same disease - that of being politicians.....

This mayor is jumping on the latest trend unleashed by all the pundit shows yesterday:
“Why hasn’t (fill in blank) not denounced right-wing/extremist/hate group or individual?”
This coordinated attempt to supplant the First Amendment with “political correctness” (i.e.: barely disguised fascist-think) by the liberal MSM is not only unconscionable - it’s totally stupid as they’re attacking the very concept that insures their livelihoods.
They must believe they’ll be the last ones marched out to the bullet-pocked wall.
Ask the mayor to denounce illegals coming across the border and kidnapping and killing, making Pheonix the kidnapping capital of America.
