2 People Shot at U.S. Holocaust Museum
A gunman armed with a shotgun walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington today and opened fire on a security guard before being shot and seriously wounded by two other guards, authorities said.
2 People Shot at U.S. Holocaust Museum The security guard and the gunman were both transported to George Washington University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. A hospital spokesperson declined to release information on the condition of the two.
A third person sustained minor injuries in the shooting, according to police.
A law enforcement source identified the gunman as James W. von Brunn, who is known to authorities as a white supremacist.
Sgt. David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said the security guard and the gunman were the only two persons who were hit by gunshots. Initial reports said at least one other person sustained gunshot wounds.
He said the museum has been "completely secured and evacuated."

You’re absolutely correct.
At this point, that crap (Obama’s Birth Certificate nonsense) attracts all of the dumbasses, kooks and contrarians. All together searching for anything but the truth.
I was interested when it first came to light. But once the Republican Governor of Hawaii (the authority on the subject) said that the certicifate was authentic and would remain private (as the law prescribes), then it was a done issue.
All that remains now are the Joan of Ark complexed whackjobs who cant function without some sort of conspiracy being carried out against them.
Of course not, but a lot of the stuff that’s been posted here on the “Obama’s Birth Certificate” topic (both as articles and as posts in response) has been pure loony, ranting conspiracy garbage. And every time somebody starts one of those threads, many FReepers take the bait and respond with eagerly supportive posts.
Perhaps some of it did sound like conspiracy garbage. As long as it was mere talk and didn’t constitute threats to anyone, I’m at a loss why you would bring that stuff up now, as if to promote the idea such talk justifies the leftist slams of FR.
He took Rev. Wright’s words to heart, and went to get “dem Joos” outta da way.
Stating that it was authentic means absolutely nothing, when some of the state birth certificates were issued to cover children who had been born elsewhere, but had no documentation of birth.
Obama’s own grandmother stated she was present at his birth in Kenya.
To be honest, you’re the one who comes off looking like the kook on this topic.
I cant fault him for his position. Half of me agrees with him. Too many whackjobs and kneejerk contrarians are chiming in around here.
We’re not Contrarians opposing for the sake of opposition, we’re Conservatives.
And above all else we should value the truth. Not nitwit anti-Obama HaterAde and conspiracy theories (ESPECIALLY those espoused by nutcakes).
Most likely you are already on several watch lists as most Americans already are. You can leave now, but the damage is already done. Have fun defending and watching freedom and the Republic elswhere.
On the way out, don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. ;)
Yeah, VaBthang4 is the whackjob, got it. :/
Do you even read?!?!
“...once the Republican Governor of Hawaii (the authority on the subject) said that the certificate was authentic and would remain private (as the law prescribes), then it was a done issue.”
NuckinFutts.
And it was a done issue even if he really was born somewhere else, because neither the Constitution nor any subsequent legislation spells out any standard of proof for whether someone is a "natural born citizen", and it's an inherently a fuzzy issue, as evidenced by McCain's birth outside the country.
As I've noted on a couple of those threads, most people really don't KNOW where they were born. They know what they've been told by their families, and they know what the government of the state they think they were born in says, but that's it. Any birth certificate could actually be someone else's -- they don't contain any biometric information (though I think some states now do a footprint, but it's not universal, and certainly there is no federal requirement that states do tha;, and if a newborn is born at home and then quickly brought into a hospital, the footprint would be the same whether the birth actually occurred in the US or a few miles over the border).
I THINK I was born in Washington DC, but a good conspiracy theorist could make a strong case for Indonesia, which is where (if what I've always been told is true) I was conceived. In my case, my parents are both still living, and they were in Indonesia as US federal government employees, and returned to the US at the ends of their tours of duty at federal government expense, shortly before my birth, so in my case, pretty definitive proof could probably be dug up if necessary. But that's not so for many people, and even for me, would be a ludicrous waste of time and expense.
I'm sure we've got many thousands of people currently living in the US who honestly believe they were born here, but who were actually born in Mexico -- their parents tell them so as soon as they're old enough to ask, so that they won't accidentally spill the beans while they and their parents are living here illegally, and then they never get told the truth. And we have no way to prove it (nor do they themselves have any way to find out for sure). THAT is what we should be worried about. Not whether one guy who won the Presidency by a large margin, and who has clearly been in the US since childhood, can prove beyond any shadow of doubt that he was born in the US.
Then you probably agree with everything Arlen Spector has ever said too. And of course John McCain has been right on target with all his comments. Olympia Snow speaks for you. And I’m sure a lot of other wing nut Republican office holders do too. Yes, nuckinfutts is precisely the word I would use.
We have our forum under attack, and the best you bumpkin lug-heads can think to do is to try and find a topic you can mention to back up the leftists claim regarding this forum.
With friends like you folks...
Wrong answer.
Regardless, I've made my point.
So we should ignore the U.S. Constitution and forget about having a requirement regarding birth any longer. Well, I'm glad to have that judicial ruling. LOL
***The suspect is James von Brunn, an 88-year-old white supremacist from Maryland, ****
Any chance he might have been a member of the American Nazi BUND before WWII?
“Under Attack”
???
When you open the front door to the burglar, I have a tough time sympathizing with you.
It is one thing to take the everyday BS from the left. It is another thing to open the door to those attacks by linking ignorant anti-Obama Birth Certificate stories from whackjob racists.
If you cant tell the difference, then IMO you’re one of the people Jim needs to show the door.
Conservatism doesnt need lie screaming dramaqueens, it needs competence.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. If anyone is a drama queen, it’s you for pinging Jim Robinson.
