I do not blame her for being furious.
When I heard the word ‘barbarism’ I could not help wonder what would be said if the Holocaust happened in a PC world. How does one describe The Final Solution in PC terms? Of course it cannot be done, the sad thing is that I am sure many of our own elected officials would try.
WE HAVE A WINNAH!!
When I was a young thing, my home room was also my French class. So everyday we said the pledge of allegiance in French.
I’ve never forgot it.
I speak French quite well...took four years of it.
Obama’s speech, when compared to Reagan’ will be like Rocky V when compared to Rocky I.
Thank you so much for sharing that story of service.
As many on this thread, I’m living this moment with you and paying respects to those that served our nation and the world that day.
Thanks to all on this thread today.
He'll probably recall how the Muslims won WWII.
I thought it was a great speech. Obama sat there looking down. Never thought I would think more of a French president’s speech than our own.
;^D
“Mr President of the United States....don’t forget...” - N. Sarkozy, President of FRANCE.
I read much better than I speak.
Perhaps he’ll apologize for America’s interference on D Day.
Sarko lost me at the point of global warming.............
FGS
Oh lordy, here’s Gordon Brown- I guess this is why he hasn’t stepped down yet?
And PM Harper said “we must teach FREEDOM...”
Sarkozy blew the doors off...he was fantastic (and I was also impressed with the translator). He is a tough act to follow.
Sarkozy has a sense of both class and dignity. If you see his address to our Congress you know this a man who understands the importance of the US and being an ally of America.
The leftists hate him in France. They ridicule him by calling him Sarkozy the American.
He wears it like a badge of courage. And that makes their hatred stronger. And apparently it gives him strength.
(Word is that he is already pushing Obama that Tehran’s mullahs are not responding to talks. He’s already breaking the bad news to Obama now.)
That Sarkozy would respect this day by doing his best to honor those that took the beaches of Normandy should be no surprise.
I had been waiting to hear that word.
I believe it’s the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance.
Wonder if Obama will state that the war in Europe was a war of choice.
I wish I knew how to copy and post cartoons. The Michael Ramirez IBD cartoon for today (listed as June 8) belongs on this thread.

Thank you for sharing your story of this veteran.
My Dad is 96, and last year he still had tears in his eyes when he recalled looking for the planes and counting how many crews didn't make it back to the field after each mission.
