Stmt of AG Eric Holder on DOJ's Outreach & Enforcement Efforts to Protect American Muslims
Dept of Justice ^ | June 4, 2009 | Eric Holder

Posted on 06/05/2009 11:53:27 AM PDT by callisto

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder released the following statement relating to President Obama’s historic speech today in Cairo, Egypt:

"The President's pledge for a new beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing market, in our schools and in the voting booth.

"There are those who will continue to want to divide by fear - to pit our national security against our civil liberties - but that is a false choice. We have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect our principles."

The U.S. Department of Injustice
Two weeks ago, in a highly unusual move, Holder dismissed default judgments his department had won against two of three defendants charged with violating the Voting Rights Act. On Nov. 4, 2008, a billy club-wielding militant in military-style boots and beret stood outside a Philly polling location with a similarly dressed partner. Citizen journalists from the Pennsylvania-based blog Election Journal captured the menacing duo on video. One of the watchdogs observed: "I think it might be a little intimidating that you have a stick in your hand."

That was an understatement. Witness Bartle Bull, a Democratic lawyer who organized for Bobby Kennedy and worked for the civil rights movement in Mississippi, signed a sworn affidavit decrying the Election Day brutishness. Serving as a poll watcher that day, he called the behavior of Samir Shabazz and Jerry Jackson "the most blatant form of voter discrimination I have encountered in my life."
. . .
Former Justice Department official and voting rights scholar Hans Van Spakovsky added: "I have never heard of the Department dismissing a case it has already won by default

Did The White House Call Off Investigations Into Black Muslim Convert Extremists? (Important!!!!!)
According to ABC News, Stratfor, and Doug Ross, yes. From Doug Ross:

A disturbing aspect of the attack is that Muhammad had been brought to the FBI's attention months ago, according to ABC News.

But U.S. counterterror teams may have been intentionally prevented from investigating radicalized converts to Islam:

Several weeks ago, STRATFOR heard from sources that the FBI and other law enforcement organizations had been ordered to "back off" of counterterrorism investigations into the activities of Black Muslim converts. At this point, it is unclear to us if that guidance was given by the White House or the Department of Justice, or if it was promulgated by the agencies themselves, anticipating the wishes of President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.

It's so nice to hear how the Obama Administration has its priorities in the right place.

The Caliph (Obama) of Washington D.C. has proclaimed “WE ARE A MUSLIM NATION”. I assume Sharia Law will be implemented soon and all the ladies will be scurrying about trying to find an abaya or burka. The older fellows won’t have to grow a beard or buy a burnoose if they sign up for the new Medicare Proviso that exempts the seniors if they voluntarily cancel access to 911.

Unless, of course, we are talking about the civil rights case that was just trashed by the DOJ against the Black Panthers at the voting booths in Philly!

There's certainly no reason to be suspicious of anyone in the Muslim community -- they mean America no harm...
