U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder released the following statement relating to President Obama’s historic speech today in Cairo, Egypt:

"The President's pledge for a new beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing market, in our schools and in the voting booth.

"There are those who will continue to want to divide by fear - to pit our national security against our civil liberties - but that is a false choice. We have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect our principles."

According to the FBI, here are the 2007 hate-crime statistics for various categories:

Anti-Jewish 969
Anti-Islamic 115
Anti-Catholic 61
Anti-Protestant 57
Anti-Other Religion 62
Anti-Atheist 6

Anti-Black 2,658
Anti-White 749
Anti-Hispanic 595
Anti-Other Natl Orig 412
Anti-Asian 199

These statistics do not reveal a need to emphasize enforcement of crimes against Muslims - there are more than 800% as many crimes against Jews as against Muslims. If you add Protestants and Catholics, there are more crimes against Christians than Muslims. And even if you assume a significant percentage of the 412 crimes against people of "other National Origin" were perpetrated against people of Middle-Eastern background, there are still fewer of those crimes than hate crimes against white people.

So what is the reason for emphasizing crimes against Muslims, when there really should be emphasis on crimes against Jews and Blacks and homosexuals (which I omitted from my list)?

And I resent Obama's unfounded implication that Bush neglected enforcement of the civil rights laws.

Muslim Americans have nothing to fear from us, but Jewish Americans have plenty to fear from them. Who’s gonna watch our backs?

This is outrageous.

“Hate crimes against Muslim-Americans” is a myth: fueled by bogus reports coming from radical Islamic organizations like CAIR whose real mission is the Islamization of America, and replacing the Constitution with the Koran. Their executive directors have publically said so.

We are being set up as “Racist” if we disagree with a black President or a black Attorney General, or have a problem with Black Muslims intimidating voters, or don’t like it when Muslim-Americans are telling Jews to “Go back to the ovens.”

I would like to direct FReepers to the story about the Zebra killings in San Francisco, a 179-day reign of terror from 1973 to 1974, when a Black Muslim group, known as the “Death Angels,” and dedicated to killing white people, brutally murdered 71 innocent men, women, and children, all white.

Education panel votes to add 2 Muslim holidays to school calendar
"Yesterday, the City Council's Education Committee advocated to eliminate that dilemma -- at least for Muslim families. The committee passed a resolution that would call upon the city Department of Education to incorporate two major Muslim holidays into the school calendar. The committee has also been pushing for the introduction of a state law that would require schools to close on those two days."

Sharia Finance: Rapidly Increasing Inroads Via American Banks…With the Help of Our Treasury Department
The United States Treasury Department is opening the back door to Sharia Law in this country by wooing the money of the Muslim States. This wooing of Sharia began in the Bush Administration. In addition to the Nov 6, 2008 seminar at the Treasury Dept. there was an earlier seminar on April 26, 2002. Following are the introductory remarks by John B. Taylor, undersecretary for International Affairs at the Islamic Finance 101 seminar at the Treasury Department (www.treas.gov/press/releases/po3068.htm).

“Of particular concern is the progress being made to establish Shariah-Compliant Finance (SCF) within Western, and most recently, U.S. banks and other institutions that trade securities. Islamic finance’s leading Shariah authorities have made plain that they consider SCF to be “jihad with money”, “financial jihad” and a means of promoting their objective of destroying the West’s economic system and replacing it with an Islamic one.

“Incredibly, in recent days, the Treasury Department has begun embracing Shariah-Compliant Finance. Deputy Secretary Robert Kimmett has professed an interest in “studying the salient features of Islamic Banking to ascertain how far it could be useful in fighting the ongoing world economic crises”. According to a press report out of Saudi Arabia he has declared that “experts in the Treasury Department are currently learning the important features of Islamic Banking.”

The jihad has been brought to America in more ways than one. Shariah finance has begun its invasion of our financial systems and events will quietly proceed until Islam is the only religion permitted to be displayed. Europe waited until it was too late before they recognized what had changed. Let's hope America learns from their mistakes.
