(CNN) -- A North Carolina man is accused of arranging to have his wife raped through personal ads on the Web site Craigslist, police said Wednesday.
The 25-year-old man, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, was arrested in connection with the incident that occurred at his home early Sunday, police said in a statement.
Police responded to the home at about 2:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call indicating a male armed with a knife appeared in the couple's bedroom and sexually assaulted the man's wife, authorities said.
The man was present at the time of the assault, and two young children were in the home, but were unharmed and unaware of the incident, the police statement said.

I pray that you are not serious.
What's vile is the idea that abortion is not a crime just like rape is. Abortion is indefensible (and so is rape). When people start reacting to abortion like you did my "modest proposal", maybe the killing will stop.
That woman was attacked at knife point, while her sick, bastard of a husband watched.
Just like a fetus: attacked at knife point with her consenting mother in the room. How sick is that?
Uhhhhhh, I think you had better back up and punt. You are definitely blowing this quarter.
I hope that sarc tag was ate by the dog. A husband paying for the mental anguish of this for a wife is beyond a court.
Precisely my point: If anyone thought I was serious in suggesting it was okay for a husband to have someone hurt his wife, surely they'd call for men in white coats, or worse. But many people think it's perfectly sane and normal to kill an unborn child.
Doesn't anyone see the irony and double standard here? A husband invites a stranger into his home to assault his wife and poeple go bonkers in defense of the wife and in outrage toward the husband. And yet if that woman, or any woman for that matter, invited a doctor into her womb to assault and kill her unborn child, most of those same people would say "hands off her right to an abortion." Why isn't anyone saying "hands off a husband's right to have someone assault his wife"? The answer, of course, is because it's wrong.
Trying to abort a marriage by permitting third party trauma to the spouse is no different than aborting a pregnanacy by permitting third party trauma to the unborn child.
And no one should try distinguishing the two based on motivation or commitment: each involves a victim, and injuring and killing without the knowledge and consent of the victim is wrong, period, no matter what the motivation or commitment (and so is euthanasia, but that's for another day).
A husband paying for the mental anguish of this for a wife is beyond a court.
If I may paraphrase, a mother paying for the physical suffering of an abortion and death for her unborn child is beyond a court. (Which reminds me, now that Justice Blackmun has gone on to his reward, I wonder how his soul is getting treated these days? As Woody Allen said, eternity is a long time, especially towards the end.)
We're running a reverse here Sparky; see post #25 above. The reaction of the entire defensive line thus far demonstrates my point about abortion. Peace, A
I pray that you have the same reaction next time you hear someone defending abortion that you just had to my "modest proposal." See post #25 for answered prayer.
I am Pro Life, but I would never justify any other atrocity to try to prove a point. You are out of line.
So because there is abortion killing, all other crimes are ok, because they are not killing like abortion. You are one sick, disgusting pup.
Sorry to all pups everywhere!
WOW...
That was absolutely fantastic! It really hits the nail on the head.
No, read post #25. It's intellectually bankrupt to condemn what happened in N.C. and not also, with equal fervor, condemn abortion. In each situation, someone is saying it's okay to hurt an innocent victim: "Here, kill my unborn child, it's okay." and "Here, rape my wife, it's okay." Your reaction to my "modest proposal" that both are acceptable only serves to reinforce my point about the intellectual bankruptcy of saying rape is reprehensible but abortion is acceptable, and I thank you. Peace, Mr. Pup.
Thanks Ann... :)
But I and (i know) others DO condemn it with equal fervor, just not in every conversation.
J.R. Biker Chick, if you have the courage of your Pro Life convictions, I hope you will point out to anyone willing to listen the atrocity, and complete inconsistency, of condemning rape but not abortion when, in fact, both acts violate an innocent victim's rights and both are wrong. You would do well to point out to anyone believing otherwise that he or she is out of line. Peace, A.
bttt
Wait... you know why I can't find it? Because it's NOT THERE. You are the stereotypical frothing lunatic who has to turn every discussion into one about the evils of abortion, acting as though no one but you cares a damn about it. There are plenty of people who spend time every day trying to influence those within their own sphere and be an example to look up to. You're not just preaching to a choir here; you're insulting them as well.
We didn’t condemn any other of the millions of things we vehemently don’t agree with either. That’s because it wasn’t the issue right now.
I absolutely believe in standing up for right, but not in every single conversation that is being held. You are completely off the wall in this and are using flawed logic. No you’re not, you’re not using logic at all.
I don't think we've met, but with your demonstrable class and aplomb, I have to say, thank God you weren't in charge of advising Lincoln when it came to abolishing slavery.
This is NOT a thread about abortion and you equating this husband hiring someone to RAPE his wife to abortion, which there is no indication she ever had one or said they were great is disgusting and doesn’t belong on this or any conservative site... clearly you dislike all women if you condone rape under any circumstances, which you did with your post.
I absolutely believe in standing up for right, but not in every single conversation that is being held.
May I point out that you've replied twice in conversation with me and have yet to express any condemnation of rape and abortion with equal fervor.
