Romney in dead heat for 2012 (VIDEO)
The Boston Globe ^ | 06-03-09 | Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor

It's never too early, apparently, to start handicapping the field for the 2012 presidential race.

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey found what amounts to a dead heat among Republican contenders, with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee at 22 percent, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin at 21 percent and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney also at 21 percent.

I think she is a great rep as well I just think her style of confrontation would not sit well on a national ticket...

Reagan would tell you you’re an idiot in a clear way and everyone in the room would chuckle at how he said it. He also had a way to diffuse criticism by shining the worlds biggest flashlight on just how stupid of a criticism it was.

He spoke in grand ideas and principles with all the ease and comfort that you or I would recite a grocery list and would communicate it better. Best of all he spoke so well it would be damn near impossible to take his quotes out of context in any believable manner.

Bachmann comes across as a bit shrill even though *I* get what she is saying I don’t think the tone or manner would play well with independent voters.

While we should not choose style over substance we should choose style *and* substance over just substance. There has to be someone out there and its going to be someone that nobody is talking about yet.

No, I didn’t. I voted for Hunter in the primary and the general election.

It’s a TEAM.

Cannot be a team if one says we must 'forget about Reagan, that era is over' and the other states that 'nary a day goes by that she does not think of that great man'.
Sorry, Mitt's probably a nice enough guy, has a lovely wife, and nice family. I've never known a Mormon I did not like. But, he belongs nowhere near the White House, nor Observatory Circle.

A vote for Hunter was a vote for 0.

I’m with you; mention Romney and you get emotion-laden rants. I have yet to see a reasoned, non-emotional explanation of why a well known national figure who has real world experience in government *and* business would be a bad candidate for POTUS. We are gonna need someone with some stones *AND* real-world knowledge to undo four years of Obamination.

Romney/Palin sounds good to me; Romney/Hunter is good also.

But we have to castrate the current raging bull of this Congress in 2010 first.

Must be a slow news day in Boston. Despite the opening sentence, it is WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too early for this nonsense.

I remain weary of Mitt’s true beliefs, but he was the best of the bunch last year in the primary. He can articulate well and does bring economic experience that is sorely needed. I almost hope he runs and gets VP if we can get a real conservative up top. He would do good for us in the western regions, may give us some help in the rust belt with his Michigan roots and economic ‘gravitas’. and could articulate the message well. He also can be a pretty good attack dog.

At this point I would be tempted to vote for Vladamir Putin over 0bama - he’s not as much a communist and doesn’t hate America as much!

I could get very excited about a Palin ticket if she is paired with someone hawkish on borders/trade. Palin/Hunter would be a winner. Sarah’s a shark in lipstick and heels. Didn’t even campaign last year, and she ended up getting the VP nod.

IMHO, she will have no trouble gutting either Huck or Mitt in the primaries barring some serious shenanigans. We’ll see what kind of games RNC and pals play this time around. Last time, they got their way and we ended up with sure-loser McCain. Mitt or Huck on the top of the ticket in 2012, and I will officially re-register as independent or 3rd party.

Don’t you dare judge me, you condescending jerk. I am on your side (or I would have been had you not made the first impression you just did). I’m not letting the MSM decide anything. I’m pointing out that, in my opinion, too many OTHERS have done so with respect to Palin, as they did with Quayle. I regret this, but I also don’t think it’s changeable.

Disagree with my opinion respectfully if you like, but don’t you dare quesiton my integrity.

What does it say about you that you start off a conversation with abuse? Glad to return what you sent, however. Jerk.

The good news is Hunter won't run again. He would be a great president, but he can't fill a highschool gym when he gives a speech.

The bad news is the Huckster can and he will run again, condemning us to another split vote for conservatives and leaving us with another liberal. I use the term split vote for conservatives loosly. Huck is not a conservative but their are many conservatives that will vote for him because he carries a bible.

I voted for McCain because of Palin. I doubt very seriously I will ever vote republican again at the national level. I will support my very conservative local congresscritter. I won't vote for Crist who is trying to replace the last Rino we had in the senate.

I’m not letting them decide. Rather, I’m mournfully opining that too many lemmings HAVE let the MSM decide — and, second, that this “branding” isn’t sufficiently changeable.

I’ll thank you not to accuse me of following the lead of the Katey Courics of this world, if you wish to have a pleasant conversation. Cheers.

Uh, honey? You MADE UP the words. Your accusation is false. And you aren’t worth two squirts of liquid waste, or another keystroke of my infinitely more-valuable time. Goodbye.

As if we’ll have an election in 2012. Hussein will see to it that his reign is permanent — whatever it takes.
