It's never too early, apparently, to start handicapping the field for the 2012 presidential race.

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey found what amounts to a dead heat among Republican contenders, with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee at 22 percent, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin at 21 percent and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney also at 21 percent.

I’ve got to agree. Mitt would have been the better candidate especially with the economic meltdown. Then again, who wouldn’t have been better than McLame?

We get to pick again from a field of quasi-liberal losers and a well-intended soccer mom.

A well-intentioned soccer mom that just happens to be the governor of a state. But perhaps you could have become governor of a state, but just decided not to.

I can say with unwavering conviction, I will never vote for Romney or Huck. Period. Learned my lesson with McCain.

Just curious, what baggage does Michele Bachmann carry? To wit, I love the lady, and think she’s an outstanding rep.

Are you crazy? The left was praying (as much as they can pray) for Romney. He’s a walking contradiction. Oh, and not a conservative either.

Could you IMAGINE how the left would explode if it was Palin/Bachmann?

Mitt Romney would make a great used car salesman.

The only stalking horse was Fred. He assured McCain’s victory. And since he was McCains’ co-chair in 2000, who could blame him, sally.

“And Palin, my concern with her is that she’s been “Quayle’d”: the media have irreversibly branded her as a dim-bulb, no matter the truth”

I don’t let the media decide for whom I will vote. You shouldn’t either...

Sure the media will try to pick the GOP nominee in 2012, but when it came down to where the rubber meets the road, neither Romney nor Huckabee had enough clout within the conservative movement or the GOP to take McCain completely out when he was broke, carrying his own luggage and flying coach.

If there had been a STRONG conservative candidate in 2008, he/she would have won, despite the MSM favoring McCain. However let’s face it, as some football drafts are sub-par, the choice for POTUS on the GOP side in 2008 was also sub-par. Out of many sub-par candidates McCain emerged.

Now you project that to 2012 and if Sarah Palin is attracting on average crowds of 20,000, I don’t care what the MSM says or does: it won’t be able to stop her in the primaries; in the general election that may be a different question. But for supporters of Sarah Palin, look at it in terms of a football season: you have to win the Conference Championship before you can go to the Super Bowl.

And what does that say about you that, 1, you let the MSM decide who to vote for, and 2, you actually fell for their lies?

IIRC, you supported Huck after Hunter dropped out.
