From what I've read, Pam Am 103--because it was delayed one hour in regards to departure time due to air traffic conditions at London Heathrow Airport--blew up over Lockerbe instead of blowing up over the ocean. If that flight had taken off on time it would have blown up over the ocean just like when Air India Flight 182 blew up over the Atlantic in June 1985.

As of now, the first thing we have to find out is recovering the flight data recorders from Air France 447. That data is VITALLY important because if the FDR's suddenly stop recording we have to seriously start considering the possibility of a terrorist bomb, because when Pan Am 103 exploded the FDR's immediately stopped recording voice and flight data. In the Korea Air Lines 007 shootdown, analysis of the flight data recorders showed that even after the plane took a missile hit the FDR's continued to record for quite some time until the damage from the missile impact finally cut off electrical flow to the FDR's.

Did you hear the reports about people aboard the flight from Brazil calling family in France during the last few minutes before hitting the ocean?
