I do not support this, but I do understand this.

Kansas politics has been corrupted to the core by George Tiller, making him like a mobster above the law.

He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.

I can't condone it, but I damn well understand it. My complaint is that this can make a martyr of Tiller. That's the only thing bad about this as far as I am concerned.

As far as Tiller goes, good riddance to bad rubbish. The good thing is that children are also saved by this. Late term abortions kill viable children. No tears shed here. None.

If I was a Kansas attorney, I'd argue defense of others and push for jury nullification. It's the only shot he has. Put Tiller's ghost on trial.

If and early untimely death is good enough for those helpless babies it’s good enough for Dr Geaorge Tiller.

May my Lord have mercy on his soul.

Look what we have become.

Well I neither support, nor understand this. Murder is murder. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Prayers lifted for Tiller’s family and friends. He did NOT, NOT, NOT deserve to die like this.

It's late Sunday and I just saw a yahoo update on this!! i was totallly gobsmacked to hear this! :-O

There's a quote from the wife/widow here:
"The slaying of the 67-year-old doctor is "an unspeakable tragedy," his widow, four children and 10 grandchildren said in statement. "This is particularly heart-wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace."

In my mind's eye, however, I read it this way:
"The slaying of the hundreds and thousands of unborn children by this man over the years at all stages of their neonatal development is "an unspeakable tragedy,"..."This is particularly heart-wrenching because these innocent unborn children were murdered in their mothers' wombs, a place of peace."

I do not condone this sort of thing, but as it was said, those who live violently tend die violently.

Prayers going up for his widow and family. May God forgive his soul!

I have taken some flack for how I posted this item.

However, “He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword” would seem to apply to Tiller and to the shooter, equally, would it not?

So, how can anyone claim that I support the shooting of Tiller?

My quote, from Jesus no less, does not absolve Tiller or Tillers shooter from judgment by God.

Based on all the arguments in this thread, I am reminded of that idiotic bumper sticker that says "Don't like abortion? Then don't have one."

Someone needs to publish a bumper-sticker that says "Don't like shooting child-murdering partial-birth abortionists? Then don't shoot one."

To quote Curly Bill in Tombstone:

Well, bye.

And I'll add: "Please say hi to the pederasts when you get there".

Is there any possibility that Hussein put someone up to this just to make the pro-life movement look bad?

I do not feel any sadness over his death. While I do not support acts of violence such as this, Tiller’s hands were drenched in the blood of innocent babies, and it is easy to see how such heinous acts could drive someone over the edge like this.

I’m sorry that you chose murder as a career, Mr. Tiller. I am equally sorry that only now, as God passes his judgement upon you, you can understand that the killing of babies has consequences, both in life and in death.

To choose to condemn your own soul to hell is a terrible, terrible choice to make, and I’ll bet right now you wish you would have taken a different path when you had the chance to.

I look at the killer like another famous Kansan, John Brown. I agreed with John Brown on the issue of abolition but his tactics were not right. Neither was this guy.

Tiller had bought off many politicians and judges with Eugenics money and special interest money.

The killer should get the death penalty if Kansas has one, and Tiller I believe for his crimes, God will render the judgement.

Tiller's killer NOT connected with any prolife groups!

And as the writer notes: the left might be in a bit of trouble here -— how can the left tell us not to fear every Muslim, but then tell us to fear every prolifer?

My point?

There have been 8 abortionists shot since Roe V. Wade.

How many Americans have died from terrorist attacks during that period?

What’s the big deal? He was for abortion rights. This person merely aborted a person who caused him discomfort.

It was a post middle age abortion.

At least Tiller didn’t have all of his skin burned with acid; or have his arms and legs pulled off one by one, then his head crushed.

Statement on Killing of Late-Term Abortionist George Tiller 5/31/2009

Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America, and a leader of the Summer of Mercy peaceful protests in Wichita in 1991, stated:

“We are disturbed and saddened to learn that notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller was shot and killed today in Wichita. Through the years, hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers have prayed for George Tiller, peacefully tried to persuade him to end his killing of innocent children and exploitation of women, and actively worked to enforce the laws of Kansas. We were guided by the hope that he would change his ways and find forgiveness in Jesus Christ. As the Bible states, ‘Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?’ (Ezekiel 18:23)

“George Tiller faced on-going charges of misconduct as pro-lifers continued to rely on our civilized system to bring justice. Now, we will rely on the justice system to discover the motive of his alleged killer and expect that the full force of the law will be applied. Politicians, abortion activists, law enforcement and the media should be careful to distinguish between the millions of peaceful pro-lifers who seek the end of abortion and provide compassionate care for pregnant women, and the person who acted as a vigilante. We denounce this act of violence against George Tiller, just as we denounce the violence he committed against unborn babies and women.”

Judy Smith, Director of Concerned Women for America of Kansas, stated, “We have all worked diligently for the rule of law to be restored in Kansas and that the laws duly enacted by our legislators would be followed by everyone, including abortionists. Now someone has usurped the rule of law and taken it into his own hands and rendered vigilante justice rather than allowing the laws and procedures to work. Someone, possibly in their frustration at the slowness of the process, decided not to wait on God for the perfection of justice. It is never right to commit a wrong to make something right.”
