There's nothing like a tragic police shooting to bring a guffaw out of Rep. Charlie Rangel.
The veteran Harlem pol quipped that even President Obama, in town here for a Broadway show, should watch his back.

“...they wouldn’t know if he was president of the United States,”
Charlie, don’t ya think they should since they voted for him?
the truth is that black on black crime far exceeds any shootings by the police. BO would get his black rear end kicked by some gangstas in Harlem. He better be thankful that some honky cop is protecting him.
Can you believe Rangel? I get beyond shocked sometimes at what some people say. The cops in New York would not know that he was president? They would think he’s just another random black man in the streets? And that they shoot first and ask questions later?????
Let’s do the reversal rule here. What would the reaction be if a white Republican political leader said that Obama needs to watch his back in the Repbulican’s hometown because the cops there might confuse the president with random black men on the street, and that the cops in the Republican’s hometown shoot black men first and ask questions later? Can you imagine the uproar that would follow such comments? Yet Rangel can say this and it’s news for five minutes and then it goes away. Amazing. I never know what the criteria are for how to judge situations.
If a white politician had said this about his neighborhood, the Secret Service would have him locked down for the duration of the “administration.”
Lincoln went to the theatre.
“Other than that, how was the play, Michelle?”
“I never know what the criteria are for how to judge situations.”
Easy. If it comes out of a liberal’s mouth, it’s all good.
If it comes from a conservative, it’s racist.
See? Simple.
Too bad there aren’t thousands of protesters holding (cardboard) shovels demanding to know where all the promised “shovel ready jobs” are.
More than once, they did. Especially the Acorn members.
Rangel was making a very bad joke about a white cop who accidentially shot an off duty black cop who was chasing a car robbery suspect.
There is truly only a handful, but Rangel is one of those few that keeps the “N” word alive.
I think I’m catching on. Liberals and conservatives are judged differently.
So if Sonya Sotomayer (sp?) is a member of a minority group and grew up in poverty and grew up to be a judge, and a Supreme Court nominee, then we can be inspired by her life story.
But if Clarence Thomas is a member of minority group, and grew up in poverty, and grew up to be a judge, and a Supreme Court nominee, then we are NOT inspired by his life story. And there’s not only no inspiration from his story, but in fact the liberals want to destroy him through the worst character assassination methods possible.
The dems would welcome who ever said and embrace them?
Lol!
Well, not really. You know, love the guy or hate him, if I (or any large number of Freepers, I’m sure) saw some character with a gun pointed at Zero, well, we’d have to do some serious butt kicking and put the jerk out of business.
It is the Presidency. He is the President.
That, by itself, is way, way bigger than Charlie and his poor whining, his limited view of the world, his race baiting. What a narrow minded way to live a life. Sad.
By about a thousand to one. Or more.
So did Pee Wee Herman
Arghhh!!!
Let’s not go there!!
ROFL!
I think that was one of those “Off Broadway” productions.
Way, way off!
If you or I had made this ‘watch your back’ comment, we would expect a little visit from the SS. Still, Rangel speaks from ‘life experience’, right? He’d make a good Supreme Court justice! /s
Funny, If I posted that the bama should watch his back” anywhere, I’d be visited by the Secret Service.
Anyone know if they have visited Charlie yet?
