It seems it will always be John F. Kennedy's deathday in Dallas -- not his birthday -- that we will observe, and that which, even now, almost 46 years later, still fills a dark, anguished corner in the national psyche. JFK, the most famous initials of our lifetime. Strange that Lincoln's deathday goes by with barely a whisper.
But today is Kennedy's birthday, born 92 years ago at 83 Beals Street in Brookline, Massachusetts. Can you imagine, a 92-year-old Jack Kennedy?

not so happy. he dead. been dead. a while actually. these annual birthday cards are getting a bit embarrassing really. please stop putting on lipstick and writing your home phone numbers on them, its not going to happen.
JFK had his problems, but I wish we had an anti tax, anti communist, pro free enterprise Democrat out there, somewhere, today!
I would much rather have JFK Jr. in the White House than the current anti-American socialist. Say what you want to about JFK, but he loved his country and defended it. He even did not buy into the wisdom taxing the rich to death. JFK was further right than most GOP senators today.
He’s dead, let’s leave it at that.
Unless the media wants to change how they work.
For those that don’t know, and for perspective, the RiverFraud Times is a free Leftist rag littering the streets of St. Louis since the ‘80’s.
At one time it was somewhat to the left of the sole “conventional” newspaper in town, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, (coincidentally a JFK favorite during his White House years), but of course the Disgrace has moved firmly to the left along with the rest of the media.
“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”
“For those who say there is no difference between our two systems. Let them come to Berlin.”
Many private and political faults to be sure. But he was was a great American.
Your brother teddy will be down to see you soon....
Thirteen men and Kennedy on the PT-109.
The last thing conservatives should be doing, is engaging in revisionism.
In his day JFK was a liberal. If he was around today, JFK would be a liberal. Same goes for RFK. They'd be no different then their brother, fat Teddy Kennedy. The Kennedy family are a bunch of bleeding heart liberals.
Public Relations, marketing, basic debate, argument, ALL REQUIRE that we show our opposition that they actually agree with us, on some issues, or that some of their past leaders actually AGREED with us, in the past!
Your, “I am better than you” attitude will not win very many hearts and minds.
It does not compromise conservatism, in the least, for us to go out there and convince others that our ideas have worked, under Democrats and under Republicans!
Democrat Lloyd Bentson used the JFK quote, above, on the Senate floor in support of Reagan's tax cuts.
Later, it was Bentson who said “-— you are no Jack Kennedy” to Quayle. IMHO, if Quayle had been ready for that line of attack, and hit Bentson with the fact that Democrats had drifted from the values of JFK, Quayle would have done himself a great favor.
. . . and Marilyn would be how old? They’re all gone now: Jack, Marilyn, Lawford, even the old Madison Square Garden, all gone . . . except for that dress. I bet Elton John scooped it up at auction.
"Happy Birthday...Mr. President...."
The historic facts concerning JFK are on the record. Obviously you missed my point. This is 2009, not 1961! The era of Scoop Jackson Democrats is long gone. It does no good to engage in feel good historic revisionism. Also, you shouldn't expect conservatives to sit idly by while you lionize a liberal icon on the internets premier rightwing political forum.
JFK was a liberal Democrat. If he was alive today, he would be supporting the same liberal issues and liberal causes that his brother, Ted Kennedy, is supporting. If you remember correctly, by 1968 RFK had morphed into a social liberal in support of all the hot button issues the left supported during the 1960`s.
>>>>>Your, I am better than you attitude will not win very many hearts and minds.
Sorry, that doesn't sound like a conservative speaking. All I can say is, know your enemy.
If you remember correctly, Reagan quit the Dem's in 1962 and officially joined the GOP. The Dem's of JFK and LBJ had taken a sharp left turn and Reagan had had enough.
However, it does the conservative cause NO good to bash JFK.
“I didn't leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me” Ronald Reagan!
We need to show Dems that their party has CHANGED!
The BEST way to do that is to show current Dems that, historically, many of their ICONS would be REPUBLICANS today!
I'd settle for the same thing in a Republican.
“Thirteen men and Kennedy on the PT-109.”
I read here on FR many months ago that these folks on the PT-109 were all asleep. Hence the accident. No one was awake at the wheel.
I was born at noon and not at midnight.
Republicans accomplish nothing if they remain silent. If you don't understand that, you're even more naive then your rhetoric indicates. The GOP needs to return to their conservative roots and start playing hardball with Obama and his liberal cohorts. The sooner the better. If the GOP remains silent and keeps capitulating to the Dems, they'll be wandering in the wilderness for another 40 years!
Stating that JFK was FAR more conservative than any, existing Democrat elected official is NOT “capitulating” -— it is using our brains to win arguments -— try that for change, would you?
You’re a liberal.
Get lost!
