[history]
Former President George W. Bush may finally upstage Dick Cheney this week. After months of silence while Cheney has been blasting away at President Obama, Bush is scheduled to make two semi-public appearances.
Tonight he'll speak to to the Economic Club of Southwest Michigan at Lake Michigan College. It's being billed as his first major speech to an American audience. The news media will be allowed to attend the event, but not record it. Right.

He has always been a terrible speaker. I dont think its going to go well for him.One of the best speeches I ever heard President Bush make was the one he made the evening he returned to Texas after leaving W.D.C. on Jan. 22nd. T'was truly one of THE BEST speeches...so full of truth, passion, redemption...you name it...it sent chills through me.

“Is Obama going to make sure he speaks first?”
And then blame Bush - oh...that’s a GIVEN.

I agree a nightmare is in the White House. Nevertheless, he succeeds a political lightweight.

By that time the American electorate will be suffering from a collective amnesia.
To: meandog
If it’s not recorded it isn’t a “major speech.”

Like a child throwing a tantrum in the backseat of a car on a long trip, voters were more than eager to dump Republicans to stop the cacophony of shrieking liberals throwing a national tantrum. OUCH! Otherwise, yer right on the mark with that quip

President Bush was the last real President America has had. Now we are simply stuck with an inept, illegal socialist bent on the destruction of the American way of life, but hey, there ain’t no mouse in my pocket.

Actually Bush is a very engaging speaker in the forum he is addressing. I think you will be surprised.

Over time, W’s delivery may have begun to show his recalitrance over the constant attacks and the betrayals. That said, his messages and speeches are truly tremendous.

Yes, they were. He may not have that eloquent style of speech but he speaks from his heart and he’s true to himself. I’d rather listen to him all day then hear that ‘always campaigning community agitator tone’ we have now.
YUK! It’s just plain sickens me to hear it.

Get a grip on yourself and live and learn.
President Bush did not orchestrate a response team to the Left’s smears. He thought he was above it all like his father and the Left dragged him and us through the mud. Our next President had best be good and fighting back and cutting off the Left’s lies!
Look at Cheney! One speech going after the Left directly and he neutered them and has them whining and spitting. We needed a lot of people doing that on behalf of President Bush and it was up to him to put together the team to do it. We need the Republican leadership standing up and fighting against this fascist takeover happening right now.
I don’t care if you want to deny it or not. I am not you.

I almost hope that Bush comes out full force in support of Obama and socialism, maybe the Bushbots will finally shut the h-— up and go over to DU for further comments.

Absolutely, I will fall on my knees and ask forgiveness if he condemns Obama’s march to socialism and recognizes his own inability to distinguish socialism from capitalism. If this man finally can recognize his own failures to support private enterprise when the chips were down, I will willingly no longer comment on his manifest failures. I assume you will resign from the Bushbots if he fails in this test.
