It gauls me to think that the Hungarian and the Kenyan will be basking in American bravery when neither of these self serving narcisists would have ever been caught dead (no pun intended), on Omaha beach. And leave it to that self involved idiot Gordon Brown to think only of himself and not protocol considering that Her Majesty and Prince Phillip are the only ones of the bunch that were even there and participated in the war.
We are witnessing the death of civil society.

Just give France back to the Germans and be done with it.

If Obama had any spine, or class, he’d make this event much like the first one and go in with the British and Canadians regardless of what the French have to say about it.
The diplomatic message would read something like:
“Wanna play *(&*ing games, froggy? Fine, we’ll play *&(^ing games.”
Screw protocol.

After V-Day in Europe was renamed to Europe Day nothing surprises me any longer. V-Day was inconvenient to former Nazis.
Since the handlers of Nazi scum have won they erase all traces of what happened in WWII.
This little French POS is only doing what his masters are telling him to do.

Truly vile..but if there’s any consolation to be gained from this travesty, I suspect that wee Gordie won’t be PM for much longer..indeed, the British people will blame Labour, and Brown, for this insult..

France's equivalent of BBC1 plans blanket coverage in a day-long programme called Barack Obama On The Invasion Beaches. Publicity for it makes no mention of British or Canadian troops. Gag.

We British People, like Netanyahu, haven't, nor never will forget the fallen that gave the ultimate price to liberate France from the nazis, nor will we Brits forget 70,000 French Jews that the French Government deported & sent to their deaths at the hands of the nazi's during the treasonous, cowardly franco-nazi governance during WW2.
Everything these egotistical, cowardly socialists do is being noted, and their attempts to rewrite history for their own end will not work.
Israel simply cannot trust the EU or the new US Government at all, they should distance themselves from Europe & the USA whilst Obama is installed.

How the queen came to be excluded has become entangled in a thicket of diplomatic missteps, or misunderstandings... Obama is supposed to be SUCH a great diplomat that he will convince our enemies to abandon their evil schemes, but he can't even get our allies to attend a party together...
We're doomed...

The father of my best friend in high school met then Princess Elizabeth as she serviced an Army vehicle that he crewed. Now that is a sentence that demands very careful parsing!

Thanks for your insightful thoughts - warmest of wishes to you and all my fellow Brit Freepers and “brothers in arms” from here in Texas
Ultimately, good will triumph over evil, and things that are at present up-side-down will be set right - however getting there is going to be a very rough ride for us all...
