1st ANNUAL FREE REPUBLIC NATIONAL TEA PARTY CONVENTION INFORMATION

We will be putting together the details of the week’s events soon. For now, this is our tentative agenda for 9-10 through 9-12.

Thursday, 9-10:
Morning: Liberty Summit with select Congressmen and Senators
Afternoon: Grassroots visits with Representatives and Senators
Evening: Time to explore Washington

Friday, 9-11:
Morning: September 11th Never Forget memorial
Afternoon: Grassroots leadership training seminars
Evening: Special Dinner

Saturday, 9-12:
8:00am Set up for stages and volunteers
10:00am Events begin at U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial
2:00pm March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building

A few days ago it was announced the Florida Chapter of Free Republic would be gathering together in D.C. to attend the National Tea Party. Due to overwhelming interest all across the country, the event has now gone national

Get your plans set and join Freepers from across the U.S. for the 1^st. annual Freeper National Tea Party Convention!

This event is open only to Registered Freepers, their families and friends.

I’ll be coordinating this event with the MOST appreciated help from seekthetruth. For now I (Brytani) am collecting names of those who are committed to going to D.C. with us. Once we have a realistic idea of how many Freepers are aboard, I will be contacting Hotels in D.C. to find a group or convention rate.

We already have a few wonderful Hotels on our list and don’t want to wait until they are filled up. The plan is simple and will take only a FreepMail but time is of the essence!!! Hotels in D.C. are filling up fast!!!

For now I need your FreeperID, the number of room you will need the how many people will be in your party. If you have any questions please ask them on this thread or if you’d prefer you can FreepMail me.

During the first week of June I will announce the Hotel, room rate, address, perks etc and when and how your reservation will need to be made.

For those who are considering joining us but have not completely committed, please FreepMail as well. This will give me a better idea of how many room to inquire on.

If you are already attending please consider staying with Freepers from around the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people you’ve been talking to for years and make new FRriends.

Why every Freeper should be in D.C. September 11-12, 2009

There are those who have valid concerns about heading into D.C. for the National Tax Rally on September 11-12. Do not let your concerns stop you from standing and defending our nation during a time of her greatest need.

I know ACORN will try to cause problems. ACORN will do everything possible to make us look bad. I also know it does not matter if we rally at our State Capitals or in D.C., the media will trash us as “fringe” elements of the right wing. I know that TOTUS will claim he didn’t even know we were there.

I do also know this: A million Americans came together on April 15 in every state in our nation. I’ve yet to find a single credible report of a single arrest, at any Tea Party, anywhere in the US.

April 15 showed America how patriots protests. We do not break laws, we do not cause problems and we leave an area cleaner then it was when we arrived. I also know Freepers, we are quick to take to task anyone who acts in ways unbecoming to the conservative label and the Freeper name.

If ACORN acts up I have no doubts it will be handled in an appropriate manner. I also know Freepers will join with hundreds of thousands of Americans who will not be fooled by leftist tactics nor will they be drawn into them.

We are patriots. ACORN can not sway us, they can’t move us, and they can not change our core beliefs. When we band together, ACORN and their ilk can not stand up to us.

I know thousands of people showing up at their state capital can be ignored or mocked by the media. Hundreds of thousands of peaceful marchers in D.C. can not be easily ignored.

I know if the media distorts our message or numbers, the truth will come out. An enterprising Freeper will show the media to be the biased fools they are, just as the CNN reporter was “outed” after her tirade of April 15.

Americans who are wondering what has happened to our country need to hear our side.

Those who care more about the latest American Idol winner then this country need to hear from us. They need to see that the conservative message does not come from off the wall right-wing nut-jobs (as the media likes to paint us).

We are a VERY large group of everyday Americans who fear for our country. We want it back from politicians who rule instead of serve and from those who are corrupt instead of lawful. We will not stand aside as failed liberal policies cause complete economic ruin while turning America into a third world country.

We are not going into D.C. to change the hearts and minds of our elected officials. For months, thousands of us have been writing, phoning, sending emails and going into the offices of our elected officials only to have our concerns mocked or ignored.

We are going to D.C. to change the hearts and minds of Americans.

We are going to D.C. to expose the corruption of our government and judiciary.

We are going to D.C. to make a large and vocal statement that we do not support Obama or his policies.

Most importantly, we go to D.C. to rescue our country from those who want to destroy her!

When we descend on D.C. with close to a million other patriots; when millions of people around the country rally with us; we will not be ignored.

I know, this is why we MUST go to D.C.
