Good one...
I’m already planning to visit my congressdude this week. I’ll make sure this is brought to his attention. Doug Ross’ article has been printed and the link is at the top of the page. I’ll put it directly into the hands of someone in Rohrabacher’s office.
Anyone else feel like doing the same with their elected officials, I’d encourage you to go for it.
It’s VERY political. Neither Chrysler nor GM are Council on Foreign Relations members, but Ford is.
Chrysler and GM are facing bankruptcy. Apparently Ford isn’t.
As I was leaving for work this morning, on “Fox and Friends” on the Fox cable news, they mentioned they were going to cover the story. I had to leave before they got to it, but it looks like the story is getting legs.
Here are a couple of interesting charts from Open Secrets:
Car Dealers: Top Contributors to Federal Candidates and Parties (2008)I haven't checked any of these dealers against the list of franchises being closed down as opposed to those remaining open.Car Dealers: Top Contributors to Federal Candidates and Parties (2010)
Car Dealers: Long-Term Contribution Trends (Interestng that the trend for 2010 seems to be trending towards the Dems so far.)
