Just wait until July 4th Tea Party when EVERYONE and their uncles will be off work...

Yep, EVERYONE including EVERY CONgre$$critter and their minions will be off work. If they don't see them, they don't exist.
The September 8-12 "welcome" back in DC should really get their attention. Sorry, I can't find the link right now.

$100 million in budget savings in a hastily arranged photo-op that was rightly ridiculed as a meaningless gesture.

You bet it was. It's like saving $1 out of each $36,000. In a $3.6 trillion annual budget, $100 million is spent about every 14 minutes.

Comparatively speaking, that doesn't even rise to the level of chump change.

“Although I agree with you, I think that it dilutes the key message of the movement, and gives the media an easy way to dismiss what we are trying to accomplish.”

We have tried your strategy thousands of times before. That is part of what got us into this mess.

A tea party was at the beginning of another revolution awhile back, as I recall.

I've been hammering that point home to every tea party doubter I encounter on FR.

Folks need to understand that honest, hard-working, law-abiding people don't just up and start an armed revolt as their first response to encroaching tyranny.

My only problem with a July 4th march in Washington is - NOBODY’S THERE. All the politicians are home, being seen in local parades. Th MLM will only cover the fireworks.

I plan to have a few well-placed signs for politicians to seein the local parades, as well as my backside. Only a few seconds to get the message across: “STOP SPENDING”, “BoA BOUGHT” and “REDISTRIBUTE YOUR WEALTH” should do the trick.

Good list. I'd also add

3. Invite NO POLITICIANS from ANY political party to speak.

They may attend if they so wish. After all, this is supposed to be a free country.

You don’t need either my permission or my approval to do as you intend. However, I do think that it is a distraction from the central, essential message, and gives the media a way to trivialize the whole “tea party” movement as a narrow, partisan fringe.

Your message might make the local news, while the larger message is conveniently ignored. I would hate to see that happen.

Very true. There must be a period where redress by peaceful means must be sought by all means. However, a tyranny will inevitably bare its fangs, because tyranny does not usually relinquish any portion of its power peacefully.

The media has been trivializing and ignoring the essential message of the tea party movement since day one in order to depict it as partisan fringe.

“Your message might make the local news, while the larger message is conveniently ignored. I would hate to see that happen.”

What is my message?

There must be a period where redress by peaceful means must be sought by all means.

And that period is now, but the window for such peaceful tendering of our grievances is narrowing.

We shall see what Washington's reaction to the July 4th tea parties is. If they don't actually address our grievances in a substantial and satisfactory manner after that (and I don't think they will), then the September 12th protest in DC will be something for the history books.

Let’s not be silly about this. Your message is that Obama is likely unable to prove that he meets the Constitutional requirements to be President. But while the issue is legitimate, it gives the media all it needs to ignore the tea party message.

I still wish you would focus on that, instead. But of course, you can - and will - do as you wish.

I have multiple messages and I have never stated what you refer to as my “message”.

Tea parties are fine, but I’m stocking up for good old Tar-And-Feather Parties!

All right. You replied to something I posted to #13 by “Naturalborn” and I mistook that comment for a direct reply from that person. But you did object to my contention that we need to focus our message and not allow our activities to be mischaracterized by the media. Adding more issues narrows rather than broadens our appeal.

And as I said, that strategy is how we got to where we are today. It does not work. We must bring up more issues in order to prevent the media from putting words in our mouths and we have been trying to avoid that in order to get a broader appeal, but we have not gotten a broader appeal, we have lost several who were with us and the media is mischaracterizing us because they only have 1 issue to go against us on.

I forgot to mention, those seeking redress must not by any means become the aggressor. I can guarantee that the government will eventually bare its fangs. Then resistance will merely be a matter or self-defense. That is how it must play out.

The government has is already engaging in an un-declared war on The People. It's not even possible for us to be the "aggressor" at this point.

Most of the pent-up frustration among patriots (of late) is that we're not rising up to answer the very real tyranny that has been foisted upon us.

And I wouldn't worry all that much about the "fangs" of the government. Their combined forces couldn't stop a serious rebellion of the American people.

The very deployment of those forces would cause the rebellion which would bring them down.
