The simplest explanation for the presence of blood vessels and their proteins in these bones is that the dinosaurs were recently and rapidly inundated and preserved, just as one would expect to observe in a world that began thousands rather than millions of years ago.

How does the age of the tissue indicate the age of the planet?

One of the points often raised by doubters of Evolution is the circular logic that can be used in dating:

We know T. Rex is 100 million years old, because we find the fossils in rocks which are 100 million years old.
And we know these rocks are 100 million years old, because they contain T. Rex fossils.

To a certain extent, if the animal is found not to be quite so old, then it becomes difficult to make the case that the rocks are so very old.

“How does the age of the tissue indicate the age of the planet?”

Is that an inkling of an admission that the planet’s age may be in question???

“The simplest explanation for the presence of blood vessels and their proteins in these bones is that the dinosaurs were recently and rapidly inundated and preserved, just as one would expect to observe in a world that began thousands rather than millions of years ago.”

This guy is a dumbass. Does ANYONE know exactly how long the 5 1/2 days before the creation of Adam were? Anyone who agrees with him should read a book called “Genesis and the Big Bang” by Gerald Schroeder. Schroeder is both an astro-physicist (foot planted firmly in the scientific world) and an Orthodox Jew (other foot planted firmly in the traditional religious world). He cites Talmudic texts (analyses of the Torah, the 5 books of Moses by legendary rabbinical authorities over the course of hundreds of years) showing the age of the universe at over 14 billion years - not 5,770 or anything absurd like that. There is NO contradiction between science and religion on the Creation itself, nor on the order in which it unfolded - but only someone with his feet firmly planted in both worlds could really understand that.

I am a believing Jew - but the idea that the world is a few thousand years old is in complete contradiction to the senses and the mind that G-d gave to us to study His creation and His laws. Carbon 14 tests prove that three were people and life existed substantially earlier than 10,000 years ago - and none of the cave paintings showed dinosaurs, only Mastadons, Aurochs and the like. What, G-d is a practical joker, He gets His jollies by fooling the ignorant little hairless apes on a tiny little dustball called Earth? Puhleeze.

Oh, by the way, Schroeder does not accept Darwinian macro evolution - he simply thinks (and shows) that the theory has too many holes, that there simply hasn’t been enough time to account for the alleged changes in animals - but he nonetheless is a big believer in the validity of scientific tests. Both worlds, science and religion, can and should co-exist, and adherents of both should come to the realization that the other is not their rival.
