Former governors Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush joined Congressman Eric Cantor to talk health care, the economy and national security at the first town hall meeting for the National Council for a New America on Saturday. But the group steered clear of abortion and same-sex marriage -- wedge issues that have led to the defection of moderates and independents.
"Listening to people can make a difference. We've got ideas on how we can help people get health insurance, how we can improve our schools, how we can make our economy strong today as well as down the road, how we can reform entitlements -- these are the people of America that have these ideas," Romney said. "We want to share these ideas with one another, and make sure that we're laying out a vision and a plan for America that makes our lives and the lives of our kids better."
Romney lost the Republican presidential primary to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the 2008 election. Since President Obama's election, the Republicans have come under danger of being locked into a filibuster-proof Senate.
Romney said that the focus needs to be return to the American people, rather than elected officials.
"America is great because of the American people, and the skill and ingenuity and entrepreneurship of America. That's what we happen to believe," Romney said of himself, Congressman Eric Cantor and former governor Jeb Bush. "I happen to think right now with regards to our economy, that we're risking doing the very thing to our economy that government did to our housing market. And that is borrow so much money that you create a bubble that ultimately collapses."
While I would have prefered Romney over McCain as the nom....it is now time for Romney, McCain and the entire Bush family to go away.
Ok, I have a question and yes I am really interested. Why do you support MR? Please, when you answer go beyond he is a good person and has a lovely family. Talk about why you are supporting him based on his political history present and passed.
This line is giving me a headache, what are you trying to say?
I said, I defend his personal family life actions speak louder than words!
Even if it is hard to read my words it should be obvious!
One should never put new wine in an old bottle which is contaminated.
It seems the Republican party is contaminated its been that way for a long time.
So their is a movement going on the Tea Party hopefully it will developed into something good.
So instead of trying to retrieve the Republican party those who are like minded should leave and form a new party that the conservative citizens want.
after all one time the Republicans were at one time called the Wigs!
Which has nearly zero to do with his political history.
****
Thank you now you seem to be the only one who gets it!
This is all that I was getting at it is one thing not to agree or dislike the person political!
Because what was happening was scorched earth tactics in order to discredit him some were also maligning trying to tie in his personal life too!
Ok I asked because it made no sense to me which is why I asked.
I may stop asking because even the explanation is not very clear

Its been interesting being cordial to those like you whose inquiry is just another opportunity to be unpleasant!
Let sleeping dogs lie!
Your welcome!
“Does this mean I need to apologize to Resty?”
Were you off your meds when you wrote this?? LOL!
Apologize for what - offering true grace and mercy, so yet another could join the “My filthy rags are cleansed in the blood” club?
I think not.
“There is power, power, wonder-working power
in the blood of the Lamb...

A) I am not on any meds. TYVM. :/
B) Apologize to her was a joke. She accused me of being a “holly roller”. I said I was not, then admitted to being a Buddy Holly fan, thus making me a actuality a “holly roller”. I am still not a “holy roller” though.
I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER even dream of apologizing for sharing the true Gospel of Jesus Christ of Grace through Faith.
I am disappointed in you that you would think otherwise, AAC.
R
I was totally joking about that part - sorry if that was unclear - thought you would get that from my lines about offering her mercy and so on...guess I should have used an /s tag after the joke part. I would never expect you to apologize for doing what is right, and that was my point.
Meant no offense, brother.
