Socialist Myth Romney working to reshape GOP's image into Democrat Lite
NECN ^ | 05-02-09 | NECN: Washington, D.C.

Posted on 05/02/2009 6:52:12 PM PDT by GOP_Lady

Former governors Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush joined Congressman Eric Cantor to talk health care, the economy and national security at the first town hall meeting for the National Council for a New America on Saturday. But the group steered clear of abortion and same-sex marriage -- wedge issues that have led to the defection of moderates and independents.

"Listening to people can make a difference. We've got ideas on how we can help people get health insurance, how we can improve our schools, how we can make our economy strong today as well as down the road, how we can reform entitlements -- these are the people of America that have these ideas," Romney said. "We want to share these ideas with one another, and make sure that we're laying out a vision and a plan for America that makes our lives and the lives of our kids better."

Romney lost the Republican presidential primary to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the 2008 election. Since President Obama's election, the Republicans have come under danger of being locked into a filibuster-proof Senate.

Romney said that the focus needs to be return to the American people, rather than elected officials.

"America is great because of the American people, and the skill and ingenuity and entrepreneurship of America. That's what we happen to believe," Romney said of himself, Congressman Eric Cantor and former governor Jeb Bush. "I happen to think right now with regards to our economy, that we're risking doing the very thing to our economy that government did to our housing market. And that is borrow so much money that you create a bubble that ultimately collapses."

I do, and so do others who want to protect this country from the likes of a socialist who is PRETENDING to be a conservative (Mitt).

I know this is a public forum I know you have it in for me because I am LDS, it is quite obvious as well as a few of you co-horts and take every opportunity to take swipes!

Well I am not going away and just to let those other freepers who see me, I have an anti LDS shadow!

God is the arbiter of all truth, through the BIBLE. Everything should be tested against the Bible.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:11).

Regarding your other accusations, SOP you think it is all about you. I in no way “have it in for you”, I am only trying to share the truth with you, including the truth about Mitt.

I have a right to post on any thread on any forum. You show up on the Mitt threads to support him, I show up to oppose HIM, not just because you are on there. YOU show up on the LDS threads posted by us “anti’s” (on RF) of your own free will after I have been pinged already.

Sounds more like you are stalking me.

I don’t know but I did a little to much LDS in the 1980’s.

[Kirk and Spock are walking back to San Francisco from Sausalito when Dr. Gillian Taylor stops and offers them a lift]
Dr. Gillian Taylor: Well, if it isn’t Robin Hood and Friar Tuck. Where’re you fellahs heading?
Kirk: Back to San Francisco.
Dr. Gillian Taylor: Came all the way down here to jump in and swim with the kiddies, huh?
Kirk: There’s really very little point in my trying to explain.
Dr. Gillian Taylor: I buy that. What about him?
Kirk: He’s harmless. Back in the sixties he was part of the Free Speech movement at Berkeley. I think he did too much LDS.

A) I am not a “holy roller”

B) What I quoted was from the Bible, not some ‘holy roller’ text. The Bible

c) You may not be interested but you need to be.

d) Why do you support Mitt, anyway? It is only because he is LDS?
