All of April and the start of May 2009 find us still being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama with no sign of it dying down. Following the introduction to the monthly thread I will post some photos to remind us of the first few days of the first May of the George W Bush Presidency - those were the days.
The quote I have chosen for this month are remarks made during Commander-In-Chief Trophy Event at the South Portico on May 4, 2001.
Tomorrow I will post some more photos from May 2001 I am sure we will see the contrast what we see and hear from the first few months of the Bush Presidency to the Obama Presidency will make us realise even more so how much more respect and love GWB had for the office and the country and more importantly the individual citizens rather than just special interest groups as the current President does not even bother to try to hide.

It is awful watching the train wreck day by day.
Lovely photos
Very true words especially the last sentance even if you did not agree with him you knew he was sincere and was doing and saying things that he believed were for the best interests of all and said with true feeling not for his own political and financial gain.
A sentiment many are feeling and I think will feel even more in the next 4 years.
Mine too :o)
...your collection is so beautiful I am lost for words, got a lump in my throat. It was really wonderful that you brought us this post, I will be looking forward to the next one.

I saw a quote from Robert Gibbs on this -
“he prays 5 times a day” - uh....WHAT? Isn’t that what muslims do?
Thanks so much, snugs. It just gives me a lump in my throat.
I think we must consider the source. She is NOT, when there are so many to remember. The younger generation only have 2 - HIllary and Laura. I’ll never forget the lovely Jackie Kennedy. NO ONE in my life time could top her. She was pure class.
Don’t forget President Bush tried to make some changes and congress laughed at him, yet AGAIN President Bush was right
