Sounds plausible.

Some of the names that have been circulating include

recently confirmed Solicitor General Elena Kagan; U.S. Appeals Court.

Judges Sonya Sotomayor, Kim McLane Wardlaw, Sandra Lea Lynch and Diane Pamela Wood; and Leah Ward Sears, chief justice of the Georgia Supreme Court.

Men who have been mentioned as potential nominees include Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Harvard Law professor Cass Sunstein and U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo of Chicago.

Anybody that voted for Obama has blood on their hands!

And "my way or the highway Republicans" are responsible.

All during the election we heard from people who would not vote for Rudy, would not vote for McCain, etc. even though, when they were told EXACTLY THIS would happen, they didn't care.

Now they whine and howl!

-—”All during the election we heard from people who would not vote for Rudy, would not vote for McCain, etc.”—

Mostly agree, except for Rudy. Rudy could very well have nominated this same viewed-as-Moderate judge from the Bronx. It is hard to find a judicial nominee of Mayor Rudy’s anywhere to the right of her, for that matter.

You cannot make your case credibly against Rudy-haters. Though most of the time, yes I agree - there needs to be a better plan of attack than permanent animosity towards Republicans with 70+ ACU ratings over a handful of selected issues.

But you lose this argument by trying to include Rudy as a better alternative. He really might have nominated Sotomayor (and at least two others on this list) as well.

So, who’s got a list of imams with law degrees?

I was less unhappy before I read that.

He’ll nominate a nominal woman....read Lesbian....so the GIRLIE MEN Republicans won’t be able to say NO to her. Orrin Hatch comes to mind.

Orrin Hatch is a Lesbian?

Who knew?

any chance that Bill would get that position?
He has stated in the past that he wanted to be a SCJ.
PErhaps all of this was promised to the Clintons to keep them quiet when Obama was cheating her thighness out of her rightful Dem nomination.

Sotomayor is supposed to be to the left of Ginsburg. Fanatically intolerant of religion, legislates from the bench.

My feeling is that ANY hope that the birth certificate issue was going to seriously addressed is now dead. ... The last chance to get rid of this marxist has officially been removed.

Sorry! If I really wanted to depress you I’d have said...oh...”within the next 4 years I predict the mysterious death by unnatural causes of at least one SC justice who leans right.”

Hispanic? Count us lucky if it isn’t a muslim. He’s got 4 years to find one, but I’m sure he’s trying.
So many here are saying it doesn’t matter, it’s only a lib retiring, and a lib replacing. Well, it DOES matter.
